Portfolio Manager

SMASH

• Oversee a portfolio of large-scale technology programs, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and financial performance across multiple client engagements. • Lead the end-to-end governance and delivery oversight of a portfolio of complex IT and infrastructure programs. • Prioritize projects based on business value, resource availability, strategic objectives, and risk. • Establish and maintain portfolio governance standards, delivery methodologies, and reporting frameworks. • Oversee portfolio resource planning, capacity management, and workload balancing. • Build trusted relationships with executive client stakeholders, delivery leaders, and cross-functional teams. • Facilitate portfolio reviews, executive steering committees, financial reviews, and risk management sessions. • Monitor portfolio health, ensuring programs remain aligned with scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. • Manage portfolio financial performance, including forecasting, revenue, gross margin, utilization, backlog, and profitability. • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate portfolio-level risks, issues, and dependencies. • Lead, mentor, and develop Program Managers and Project Managers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. • Develop executive dashboards and portfolio reporting that provide actionable business insights. • Drive process improvements that increase delivery efficiency, stakeholder satisfaction, and operational maturity.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in program and project management.
  • 5+ years leading large, cross-functional IT or infrastructure programs in a Professional Services and/or Managed Services environment.
  • Proven experience managing complex portfolios of enterprise technology projects.
  • Strong leadership experience managing and developing Program Managers and Project Managers.
  • Expertise in portfolio governance, strategic planning, risk management, and organizational change.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, financial reporting, and profitability analysis for multimillion-dollar portfolios.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure programs and enterprise technology delivery.
  • Proficiency with project and portfolio management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Power BI.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence across matrixed organizations.
