Qualifications - Minimum 4–7 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2 years focused on commercial insurance contracting or payer relations. - Experience in behavioral health or outpatient mental health billing strongly preferred. - Demonstrated experience negotiating payer contracts and managing contract renewals. - Thorough understanding of behavioral health carve-out payer structures (Optum Behavioral Health, Carelon, Magellan, Evernorth). - Working knowledge of MHPAEA parity requirements and their impact on behavioral health billing. - Experience managing or mentoring billing staff. - Proficiency in medical billing software, EHR systems, and data reporting tools. - Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. - Relevant certification (CPB, CPCO, CMRS, or CHFP) strongly preferred.
