Role Description The International Business and Business Development Intern is a temporary, part-time internship role designed to provide hands-on exposure to internal business operations, international business, commercial strategy, and business development activities within TPC Integrated Solutions Group. This position will support current strategic initiatives, including the new commercial structure, Houston expansion efforts, and general Business Development support. The role is intended for a student or early-career candidate interested in learning how businesses, markets, customers, and global operations connect in a real-world manufacturing and commercial environment. This role is not intended to be a marketing internship. While the intern may assist with customer, market, or business research, the primary focus is learning and supporting internal business, commercial planning, global business operations, and Business Development execution. Qualifications - Current college student or recent college attendee pursuing a degree in International Business, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain, Global Studies, or a related field preferred. - Prior internship, part-time work, academic projects, international experience, or exposure to business, customer service, research, operations, or professional office environments is helpful but not required. - Prior marketing experience is not required, and this position is not intended to function as a marketing-focused role. - Interest in international business, global markets, business strategy, trade, and how companies operate across regions and cultures. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize information clearly and professionally. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when tracking projects, notes, research, and follow-up items. - Ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying engaged, responsive, and accountable to assigned work. - Comfort using Microsoft Office, Teams, email, shared files, and other business systems, or willingness to learn quickly. - Curiosity, professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to learn from leadership and cross-functional team members. - Chinese language fluency or international living/study experience is a plus and may support business and cultural understanding when relevant to assigned projects. Requirements - Assist the Business Development team with research, tracking, organization, and follow-up activities related to customer opportunities, commercial initiatives, and new business projects. - Learn and support internal business processes by observing and assisting with how commercial priorities, customer needs, operations, and leadership decisions connect across the organization. - Gain exposure to global business activities involving customers, suppliers, and operations across multiple regions, including the U.S., China, Mexico, and Wales, as applicable to current ISG initiatives. - Assist with documentation, organization, and project support related to the development and implementation of the new commercial structure. - Provide project support for current growth initiatives, including Houston expansion efforts, and other strategic Business Development priorities. - Conduct assigned research on industries, customers, markets, competitors, and business trends to support internal discussions and Business Development planning. - Help organize business information, project notes, contact lists, customer data, research findings, and action items into clear and usable summaries for leadership and team review. - Participate in virtual meetings as appropriate, take notes, summarize key takeaways, track follow-up items, and help maintain project visibility. - Work with Business Development, operations, finance, HR, and other internal team members as assigned to gain exposure to how different departments support business growth. - Ask questions, seek feedback, and actively learn how international business, business development, manufacturing, and commercial strategy operate in a professional environment. - Maintain confidentiality of company, customer, financial, and strategic information and conduct all work with professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail. Role Description APTIM's Energy Transition team is seeking an experienced Director, Product & Business Development Energy Transition Programs to lead our growing portfolio programs across the country. The Director is responsible for: - Driving market growth and product strategy. - Designing, launching, and scaling innovative utility and energy programs. - Combining new business development leadership with product and program ownership across emobility, demand-side management (DSM), distributed energy resources (DER), and grid innovation initiatives. - Overseeing the design, development, and launch of energy efficiency, pilots, ebikes, battery storage, demand response, solar, or other supporting technologies. - Finding solutions that balance stakeholder demands and program needs. The Director serves as a resource for the leadership team and cross-functional team members to ensure commitments to stakeholders are delivered. This role involves direct engagement with: - Utilities (regulated and non-regulated). - Municipalities. - Cooperatives. - Government agencies. - Cross-selling established APTIM customers across the enterprise. You will work with others who are enthusiastic about clean energy, energy efficiency, and making a positive impact on the industry. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent work experience. - 10+ years' sales experience related to utility energy program management/implementation, utility innovation, grid modernization, and resiliency. - Strong understanding of DSM programs, beneficial electrification, emobility, DER, and utility operations and emerging trends in the industry. - Proven ability to build client relationships and translate market needs into scalable program offerings. - Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. - Experience launching new utility programs, pilots, or innovative offerings. - Experience selling and delivering programs for utilities, government agencies, or cooperatives. - Working knowledge of the policy and regulatory influences on energy efficiency and utility operations. - Proven experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders. - Must be a self-starter, organized, and able to manage competing priorities with established deadlines. - Ability to work independently and within a team environment while interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization. - High level of emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. - Strategic thinker with a practical, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity. - Commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment within the team and broader organization. - Strong leadership presence and the ability to influence others with or without direct authority. - Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
