Role Description The Senior Analyst, Medical Economics is part of our Medical Economics department. You will analyze medical costs to understand the cause of trend drivers, measuring and projecting financial outcomes of initiatives, monitoring programs, and identifying and quantifying cost savings opportunities. You will partner with Medical Economics leadership and other analytic teams to lead initiatives that support Oscar's Total Cost of Care (TCoC) goals, collaborating with clinical leadership and business leaders in the market management or functional areas. You will report into the Senior Director, Medical Economics. Work Location: This is a remote position, open to candidates who reside in: Atlanta, GA. You will be fully remote; however, our approach to work may adapt over time. Future models could potentially involve a hybrid presence at the hub office associated with your metro area. Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $91,659 - $120,303 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses. Responsibilities - Work under the guidance of a manager or director in the medical economics department. - Perform complex analytical projects to research use and unit cost medical cost drivers. - Develop and deliver detailed reports, presentations, and dashboards that distill complex medical economics insights for team members, project teams, and team leaders. - Participate in discussions and presentations with market management leadership, market medical officers, and Medical Economics leadership about medical cost drivers and cost mitigation opportunities. - Develop relationships with operational leaders across important teams (e.g., Market Management, Affordability, Network, Payment Integrity, Clinical). - Develop knowledge of industry best practices and work to guide innovation. - Contribute to department programs around automation, AI use, documentation, and tooling improvements. - Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - College degree in a STEM field: e.g. Economics, Actuarial Science, Health Economics, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Health Services Research. - 3+ years of relevant quantitative analysis experience. Bonus Points - Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or on the track to become one. - Strong understanding of health insurance concepts, data sources, and nuances. - Demonstrated knowledge of managed care and how provider reimbursement policies relate to the control of medical claims costs. Role Description The Premium Billing Treasury Analyst is responsible for executing payment processing, reconciliation, and treasury-related functions within Premium Billing operations. This role ensures that funds received from clients are accurately and timely transmitted to carriers while maintaining precise financial records.
