Job Description

Senior FP&A Analyst

Appfire

Role Description We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and strategic Senior FP&A Analyst to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will serve as the finance organization's engine for revenue analysis and board-level reporting. You will bridge the gap between complex financial data and executive-level decision-making. The ideal candidate loves digging into data to uncover revenue drivers, trends, and variances, but also possesses the communication skills to translate those findings into polished, compelling presentations for our Board of Directors and executive leadership. What you will do: - Revenue Analysis & Forecasting - Model & Forecast: Maintain and scale complex revenue forecasting models, tracking recurring revenue (ARR/MRR), churn, expansion, and customer lifetime value. - Variance Analysis: Perform monthly and quarterly variance analyses (Actuals vs. Budget/Forecast) to identify key performance drivers and anomalies. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to track pipeline health, conversion rates, and pricing strategies. - Data Integrity: Collaborate with Data/BI teams to ensure data pipelines and revenue metrics are accurate, consistent, and scalable. - Board Preparation & External Reporting - Executive Presentations: Own the preparation of financial decks, graphics, and commentary for quarterly Board of Directors meetings and investor relations. - Narrative Building: Synthesize complex financial results into clear, concise, and actionable narratives for external stakeholders. - KPI Tracking: Design and maintain executive dashboards highlighting critical SaaS/business metrics, financial health, and strategic growth pillars. - Ad-Hoc Strategic Projects: Support the executive team with ad-hoc financial modeling, M&A scenarios, or long-range strategic planning. Qualifications - 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Strategic Analytics. - Experience in high-growth technology, SaaS, or venture-backed/PE-backed companies is highly preferred. - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field. - Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (complex formulas, financial modeling best practices, large datasets). - High proficiency in PowerPoint/Google Slides with a proven eye for visual storytelling and professional formatting. - Experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Mosaic) and BI tools (e.g., Sigma, PowerBI) is a major plus. - A self-starter with a high degree of ownership, execution focus, and laser-sharp attention to detail. - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Requirements - You must be comfortable presenting "the story behind the numbers" to senior executives. Benefits - Work in a product-first SaaS B2B environment focused on building and scaling solutions for large enterprise customers. - Deliver meaningful, high-impact work that directly influences product direction and customer success. - Every Appfire team member is eligible for company equity, fostering a true sense of ownership and connection to our growth. - Appfire provides unlimited PTO plus 10 paid holidays each year. - Health insurance is 100% company-paid, with dental covered 50/50. - Additional benefits include Vision, Group Term Life Insurance, Voluntary Life, Critical Illness, Accident, Long-Term Disability, and access to an Employee Assistance Program. - Volunteering: Every employee receives 3 fully paid days each year to participate in Appfire Town, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program supporting local communities. - Employees can take advantage of Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). - Monthly stipend to support remote-work setup, along with an Amazon account for ordering necessary equipment and peripherals. - Eligibility for fitness and wellness reimbursements through our benefits provider.

Role Description Elastic is looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst to join our India finance team. You will support financial planning, reporting, and analysis for our global finance function — and help make our finance processes faster and smarter using AI tools. This is a great opportunity for someone who is curious, enjoys solving problems, and wants to do more than just run reports. What You Will Be Doing - Financial Partnership: Act as a trusted finance partner to business and functional leaders, providing timely reporting, dashboards, and visibility into operational spend. Serve as the primary point of contact for financial analytics and ad-hoc requests. - Reporting & Analysis: Deliver management reporting packages, business scorecards, and financial models for senior leadership. Build and maintain dashboards using Tableau, Sigma, or similar tools — with a focus on real-time reporting. - Forecasting & Budgeting: Support rolling forecasts, annual budgeting, and monthly budget vs. actual analysis using Pigment. Monitor KPIs, highlight trends, and deliver clear variance commentary. - Core Finance Operations: Own month-end and quarter-end close activities including expense accruals, journal entries, variance analysis, and supporting schedules. - Technology & Business Transformation: Lead re-engineering of FP&A processes using AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini) and Excel. Propose and implement new tools, drive automation adoption across finance, and upskill teams on new ways of working. Use generative AI to accelerate variance commentary, financial narratives, and reporting outputs. Validate AI-generated insights critically before presenting to leadership. Ensure accurate reconciliation across Adaptive, Pigment, Workday, and NetSuite. Maintain data quality as the foundation for reliable reporting and a single source of truth. Qualifications - Experience: 5–8 years in a finance function with exposure to business transformation, process re-engineering, or finance automation. CA / MBA / CMA preferred. - AI & Automation Fluency: Hands-on experience using AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Gemini, or similar) in a finance workflow — an active user, not just someone aware of the tools. Experience with Pigment, Adaptive, or NetSuite is a strong plus. - Transformation Mindset: Spots manual, repetitive processes and drives smarter alternatives. Comfortable proposing new tools and building the case for change. - Collaboration & Teaching: Works cross-functionally, shares knowledge, and coaches peers on automation and new tools. Makes the team around them better. - Communication: Simplifies financial complexity for non-finance stakeholders at all levels. Comfortable working across global teams and time zones. - Detail Orientation: Delivers accurate, high-quality work consistently in a fast-paced environment. Benefits - Competitive pay based on the work you do here and not your previous salary. - Health coverage for you and your family in many locations. - Ability to craft your calendar with flexible locations and schedules for many roles. - Generous number of vacation days each year. - Increase your impact - We match up to $2000 (or local currency equivalent) for financial donations and service. - Up to 40 hours each year to use toward volunteer projects you love. - Embracing parenthood with a minimum of 16 weeks of parental leave.
