Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard. We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures. To find out more, visit our LinkedIn & Instagram. About the role: We're looking for a world-class commercial leader to build, scale, and lead Halter's market entry into Argentina and Uruguay. Reporting directly to the VP of Commercial Strategy, you'll own the revenue number, champion our first customers and lead a high-accountability commercial organisation from the ground up. This is a groundbreaking role, and the opportunity to revolutionise the cattle industry. You will span the full commercial picture. You'll lead sales, marketing, and customer in the region. You'll be the primary commercial voice shaping Halter's product roadmap for Argentina and Uruguay. You'll build the team from scratch — hiring, developing, and scaling a regional organisation capable of winning in one of the world's most significant beef and cattle markets. This is a deeply hands-on leadership role. You'll spend meaningful time in the field working alongside farmers and ranchers, shaping execution on the ground, and ensuring your team is consistently raising the bar. You will bring discipline, rigour, and clarity while also operating with warmth, candour, and high support. You'll play a key role globally — representing local customer needs, partnering closely with the New Zealand team, and influencing Halter's product roadmap, forecasting, and broader go-to-market strategy. What you'll do: Build, lead & coach a high-performing commercial team - Build, develop, and performance-manage a regional commercial team from the ground up, setting clear expectations, coaching in the field, and ensuring every team member is operating at a high level. - Drive consistent execution through hands-on training, field visits, deal reviews, and continuous improvement rhythms. - Design the right team structure, hire the right people, and build the coaching infrastructure to support growth in Argentina and Uruguay. Own revenue, forecasting & the commercial operating model - Build and continuously refine a data-driven operating model, ensuring disciplined pipeline hygiene, stage progression, and conversion performance across the team. - Get up to speed quickly with the Halter sales model - Run regular reviews on pipeline health, forecast variance, territory performance, leading indicators, and productivity metrics. - Partner with global RevOps to design scalable dashboards, reporting, and insights that drive behaviour and decision-making. Lead regional marketing - Own the regional marketing function — brand presence, field events, and content — ensuring marketing and sales operate as a single, aligned commercial engine. - Partner with Halter's global marketing team to adapt global strategy, assets, and campaigns to the Argentine and Uruguayan cattle market, translating brand into pipeline. - Shape how Halter shows up in the South American market — at industry events, in trade media, and through the channels that reach farmers and ranchers where they are. Own customer satisfaction and the full post-sale experience in the region - Lead the regional customer deployment function, ensuring every farmer who buys Halter reaches full adoption quickly and sees measurable value. - Own retention and expansion revenue — holding the full customer lifecycle, not just the initial sale. - Build scalable onboarding and support processes that improve as the customer base grows and product complexity increases. - Ensure customer health metrics — adoption, retention, NPS, expansion — are tracked, visible, and actioned by the right teams. Work alongside product to drive product-market fit. Be the voice of the South American farmer - Act as the primary commercial voice translating regional customer reality — what's working, what isn't, what's blocking adoption — into clear, prioritised product and engineering requirements. - Partner with Halter's global product team to advocate for adaptations specific to Argentine and Uruguayan farming operations, ensuring the product fits the realities of this market. - Feed field insights from sales, deployment, and customer success into product planning cycles in a structured, rigorous way — not just ad hoc feedback. - Participate actively in product roadmap reviews, representing the commercial case for prioritisation decisions that affect South American growth. Set & run regional commercial rhythms - Own and run the regional commercial meeting cadence, ensuring consistent communication flow across the team: priorities, targets, expectations, updates, blockers, and accountability loops. - With headquarters in New Zealand, this role is the primary voice of the South American market on the global stage. You'll bring regional customer truth, field insight, and commercial context into company-wide decision making. Stay deeply connected to customers & the field - Spend significant time in the field, modelling best practices, supporting your team, and staying close to customer needs and market dynamics across Argentina and Uruguay. - Use field insights to shape sales strategy, territory design, role clarity, and coaching priorities. - Build strong partnerships across Halter's global organisation to ensure South American needs are understood, prioritised, and acted upon. What you'll bring: Proven commercial leadership across Sales, Marketing & Customer Success - Demonstrated success scaling revenue and managing teams through rapid growth from post-product-market-fit to meaningful commercial scale. - Experience owning or closely partnering on marketing and customer success — comfortable holding the full commercial picture, not just the sales number. - Owned growth-focused regional revenue targets, with responsibility for hitting aggressive numbers and maintaining forecast accuracy across a sizeable field organisation. Product-market fit experience - Track record of translating customer and field insight into concrete product requirements that changed the roadmap — not just passing feedback, but owning the commercial case. - Comfortable operating at the intersection of commercial and product, building structured feedback loops between the field and engineering teams. Strong analytical & commercial judgment - Able to interpret data, understand financial levers, and make clear, confident decisions in complex, fast-paced environments. Field-first, customer-centric leadership - Comfortable leading from the front, spending meaningful time on-farm, and grounding strategy in firsthand customer insight across Argentina and Uruguay. Expertise in sales methodology & forecasting - Deep skill in pipeline discipline, forecasting rigour, and building scalable sales systems and cadence. - Experience building clear segmentation and territory design, so that sales forecasts and resourcing aligns to product capabilities - Implemented or overhauled a commercial operating rhythm, including pipeline reviews, forecast cadences, and clear communication channels across managers and teams. An authentic leader, comfortable being supportive and demanding - Direct, empathetic, high-support leadership that elevates talent, develops managers, and reinforces a culture of excellence. - Fluent in Spanish and English — you'll operate across both every day, bridging the regional team and global HQ. Thrives in ambiguity & working at pace - Calm, decisive, and energised by building from scratch — operating with urgency, ownership, and adaptability in a rapidly scaling business entering a new market. - Deep familiarity with Argentina and ideally Uruguay: the farming culture, the business environment, and what it takes to earn trust on the ground.
