• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. • Oversee payroll processing, including calculating and recording payroll transactions, including payroll calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. • Prepare and lodge activity statements, GST reconciliations, PAYG and BAS. • Support clients with Individual Tax Returns (ITR) and basic business tax matters, including sole trader tax obligations. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and stay updated on changes in accounting standards and practices.
Job Requirements
- At least 4 years of Australian bookkeeping and payroll experience within a public practice environment.
- Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proven experience working with multiple bookkeeping clients and BAS preparation
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and proactive in a remote work environment.
