Project Manager- Power & Energy

Role Description WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager- Power & Energy for our Denver, CO office. We can also offer this position remotely from a mutually acceptable location within the United States and must have the ability to travel to a WSP and/or Client office for periodic face-to-face meetings. - Provides high level technical project leadership and guidance with managing the administrative, commercial, and technical components of assigned project(s) or portfolio of projects. - Ensures overall performance of assigned project(s) that are moderate and larger size/complexity and regional in scope. - Oversees financial, technical, client satisfaction, quality, safety, and schedule. - Ensures adherence to responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle (proposal phase, project startup and planning, project execution, reporting, and project closeout). - Delivers and audits with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable corporate standards for safety, execution, profitability, and operational purpose. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm. - Essential project management certification required (e.g., PMP, CAP-M). - 10+ years of relevant post education experience in a project management role within our industry. - Proficient understanding of project delivery process within the A/E/C industry. - Highly proficient analytical and organizational skills. - Strong self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities. - Proficiency with technical writing and relevant software (MS Office suite products). - Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating resources and directing consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and others. - Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adhering to WSP’s health and safety policies. - Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week. - Up to 25% travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. Requirements - Lead the development of project proposals, cost estimates, scope, schedules, and resource plans. - Develop the work breakdown structure (WBS) tasks and estimated costs. - Establish and actively drive the appropriate levels of technical review required for the project. - Ensure and maintain a record of each review and the disposition of review comments. - Mentor project team members to support their growth and professional development. - Participate in the technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentation, and meetings. - Conduct and facilitate project kick-off meetings with key stakeholders. - Work collaboratively with Project Accounting to monitor and track project metrics. - Oversee management of budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, cost and change management and control. - Maintain regular communications with the client including reporting on monthly status, safety incidents, and major issues. - Provide regular project reporting and updates to clients, technical area, and business unit managers. - Monitor accounts receivable (AR) and unbilled revenue, working to address issues as needed. - Complete formal project closeout activities, along with conducting and documenting a lessons-learned meeting. - Remain current in the latest Project Management techniques and practices (PMAP). - Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources. - Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
