Title: Senior Tax Staff Accountant Location: Encino, CA Job Description: Position Summary Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Senior Staff Tax Accountant with ideally entertainment business management experience to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation and review of various reports in support of servicing clients, preparation of simple to moderately complex tax returns, as well as tax projections and tax research. Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman provides team members the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. The hybrid work arrangement may be adjusted or altered to fill the needs of the role, including potentially working in-office for 3+ days per week. This role is hybrid out of our Encino, CA office. Primary Responsibilities - Prepare and review individual, corporate (S corp and C corp), partnership, estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns - Review General Ledger and reports to assist in preparation of tax projections - Perform tax research and planning, as needed, to solve client’s tax issues - Correspondence regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and/or tax audits - Assist in the preparation of financial reports that may include net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, tour reconciliations, etc. - Assist with tour preparation and planning, including budgets and state, local and international tax clearances, and reductions for touring artists - Assist with various business management tasks (such as purchase and sale of real estate, royalty allocations, prepping RMD schedules, international employment documents, etc.) - Informal supervision and training of Staff Accountant(s) - Other projects and duties as assigned Qualifications - 4+ years in preparation and/or review of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns for preferably entertainment and HNW individuals - Bachelor's degree is required - Master's degree, with 4+ years in a similar role is highly preferred - Familiarity with CCH Axcess or Engagement is preferred - CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus - Organization skills with a high attention to detail is necessary - Capability to learn new systems and process information quickly - Solid interpersonal skills and other key soft skills (i.e., communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, critical-thinking, etc.) - Thorough understanding of the bookkeeping process from start to finish The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $82,000 - $125,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set.
