Role Description The High Voltage Material Buyer will serve as the lead technical representative for the Procurement organization for high voltage (HV) equipment utilized in substations and power transmission lines. This position will work with the Procurement and Project Managers to maintain policies and procedures related to purchasing and expediting. In addition, this position will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers and meeting requirements to support projects schedules. - Understands and supports pursuit and project schedule requirements - Prepares the bidders list with input from the Project Manager and Procurement Manager - Solicits pre-qualification information from suggested bidders, and analyzes/presents final recommendations - Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to optimize the procurement of materials - Prepares requests for proposals and coordinates the issuance of any additions - Receives proposals and prepares commercial evaluations - Inclusion of necessary prime contract requirements in all contracts - Reviews, negotiates, and obtains final approval of any deviations from procurement policies and procedures and/or project-specific terms and conditions - Maintains positive long-term relationships with vendors and subcontractors - Evaluates and determines MBE/WBE requirements for each proposal and ensures good faith effort is made as appropriately (in collaboration with the Project Manager, Estimating Manager, and Pre-Construction Manager) - Expedites equipment and materials to ensure on-time delivery per the project schedule - Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures - Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested - Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position Qualifications - Requires BS degree in engineering, supply chain, business administration or 3-5 years of experience in high voltage substation material purchasing - General knowledge of supply chain management and procurement, as well as construction principles and processes - Knowledge of contract management - Ability to work autonomously in a fast pace, professional, team environment with minimal supervision - Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately and in support of project schedules and other deadlines - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Experience with MS Excel, MS Project required - Experience with Vista Viewpoint is preferred - Experience with Autodesk Suite is preferred - Remote work arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates Benefits - Competitive compensation paid weekly - Best-in-class; Medical, Dental, Vision, and LTD/STD - 401(k) with company match, vested day-one - Employee Stock Purchase Plan [ESPP] - Tuition Reimbursement - Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, and Community Service Paid Time Off - Pet Coverage "For our Furry Friends" - Legal Assistance Coverage - Award winning safety programs - Overtime opportunities - Growth Opportunities - And more
