Senior Data Analyst

TransUnion

Role Description As part of the Network Geography Analyst Team, you will be responsible for conducting network research important to the continued development of TransUnion’s IP Intelligence technology. You will examine and weigh several inputs and utilize that information to determine the geographic location of essential elements of internet infrastructures. Your work will have a direct impact on the quality of TransUnion’s products and the level of service we are able to provide to our customers. TransUnion will provide the necessary training, and you will develop a good understanding of how the internet infrastructure relates to geography and our products. This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management. Qualifications - Background in networking - Computer Information Systems, Geography Information Systems, Computer Science (or other relevant technical field) - At least 3 years of experience in data analysis - Basic knowledge of IP networking fundamentals, network topology, protocols, service providers - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with emphasis on determining the geographic nature of the internet - Proficiency with Excel, SQL, Big Query - Ability to become the subject matter expert in IP geolocation - Ability to manipulate, interpret, and convey big data sets - Strong research skills and ability to document research findings - Result oriented and have the mindset to improve data, processes, and procedures - Self-starting with ability to work independently as well as work effectively in a team environment - Strong oral and written communication skills including informal presentation skills before small groups - Be open to working an on-call rotation Requirements - This role reports directly to Senior Manager of Data Analytics - First 90 days you’ll become familiar with internal proprietary tools, processes and how we produce our data - You’ll be responsible for ensuring the data quality of our geolocation database Benefits - Work/life flexibility - Resources for professional development - Access to collaborative tools and technology Company Description At TransUnion, we encourage and are committed to creating a real, positive impact and shared sense of purpose within our Workforce for Good, which empowers our people to grow, innovate and contribute to a better future for our communities and customers.
