Role Description Battelle is seeking a Test Technician to provide hands‑on technical support for TSA acceptance testing activities supporting a broad range of testing and evaluation activities nationwide. This is a remote position and will require nearly 75% annual travel. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Test Lead or Senior Test Lead and plays a critical role in ensuring tests are executed safely, accurately, and in accordance with TSA‑approved procedures and schedules. Please note, this position is contingent upon Battelle receiving a contract award. Final hiring decisions will depend on organizational needs and candidate qualifications, with employment commencing only after the award is confirmed. Responsibilities - Support on‑site test execution and remote acceptance testing activities for checkpoint and/or checked baggage systems. - Assist with test setup and teardown, including positioning equipment, test articles, test kits, and data collection devices. Inspect test kits prior to deployment to verify completeness, condition, and readiness. - Execute test steps as directed by the Test Lead using TSA‑approved test plans and procedures. - Operate and monitor test equipment during execution, ensuring proper handling and safe operation. Assist with data collection during testing, including manual data recording and electronic capture. - Communicate test issues, anomalies, or safety concerns to the Test Lead promptly. - Coordinate with Test Leads, logistics personnel, OEM representatives, and site personnel during test events. - Assist with retesting activities when systems fail or require verification. Qualifications - Associate degree in related field; 2–4 years of hands-on technical experience supporting testing, field operations, maintenance, or equipment deployment. - Experience working with electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical systems. - Ability to follow detailed test procedures and accurately document results. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. - Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry, email). - Ability to lift and move test kits and equipment (up to 50 lbs). - Ability to work in industrial, airport, laboratory, and OEM factory environments. - Willingness to work nights, weekends, and non-standard hours during test events. - Willingness and ability to travel extensively; work will be performed remotely with nearly 75% travel. - Sole US Citizenship with eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and to obtain TSA Suitability.
