Role Description Modern Animal cannot deliver exceptional patient care without doctors who are exceptional at the practice of veterinary medicine, as this is our core business. Furthermore, it is the foundation of our model that the client’s experience is as extraordinary as our patient care; because of this, it is essential that we attract and retain doctors who are outstanding communicators. The Modern Animal Virtual Doctor should be competent and comfortable in the performance of the following duties and responsibilities in a virtual environment: - Process tasks relating to diagnostic results, medical questions, and medication requests. - Formulate and execute appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans; modify/alter plans in light of new information or a change in the clinical state of the patient. - Work through tasks efficiently. - Have a strong ability to get information from owners via the written word as well as while speaking to them over phone or chat using open ended questioning. - Communicate clearly and succinctly with clients regarding laboratory findings, preventive care recommendations, diagnostic and treatment options, and disease prognosis. - Work closely with other practice doctors to ensure continuity of care and communication and adherence to medical standards. - Consult with specialists regarding patient diagnostics and/or response to therapy; transfer care and/or refer as appropriate. - Resolve client services issues by communicating with clients and understanding their feedback when their experience with us has been sub-standard; lead efforts to improve processes/experiences as necessary; escalate to Lead Virtual Care Doctor. - Work with Care Team to deliver care virtually, including reviewing and reporting lab results for in clinic doctors as needed, answer questions for virtual care technicians and hosts. Qualifications - Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school (or completion of required clinical proficiency exams if foreign graduate). - Licensure in good standing in the state of California. - At least two years experience in the practice of small animal veterinary medicine and surgery is required. - Competence in the performance of surgical and dental procedures that would be routinely anticipated to occur in a general small animal practice. - Competence in the delivery of patient-appropriate anesthetic protocols. - Competence in the work-up of medical cases that would be routinely anticipated to be manageable in a general practice setting. - Competence in both outside and in-house diagnostic modalities including digital whole body and dental radiography, hematology and serum chemistries, cytology, etc. - Willingness to grow and adapt, and an inclination to embrace change and work together to build an optimal solution for all. - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Job Summary We are searching for a licensed Therapist for our growing services in Erie County. This is a full-time, diversified position for our growing services in Erie County, working with a diverse client population. MRSS (Mobile Response & Stabilization Services) is a fast, flexible, and compassionate approach to crisis care where you will bring calm to crisis, connect families with vital resources, de-escalate, do assessments and safety planning. The Therapist works under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor/Manager and is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, therapy, counseling, and support services. The Therapist will provide evidence-based therapeutic treatment of mental/behavioral health and/or substance abuse disorders as well as providing education, resources and referrals as needed. Services may be provided via telehealth, outpatient offices, and/or community-based settings. This position also provides an opportunity to get experience in crisis through Ohios Mobile Response & Stabilization Services. Essential Functions - Provide individual, family and group counseling and psychotherapy to assigned caseload, which may include clients with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders and/or may require specialty therapeutic services (e.g. IHBT, Maternal Depression, etc.). - Complete documented evidence-based Treatment Plan after the first encounter with client and documented review of Plan and progress toward therapy goal(s)/objective(s) in each progress note thereafter. - Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship with client, family, and caregivers to provide them support as appropriate. - Respond to mental health emergencies in a culturally responsive manner to support clients in a framework and manner that acknowledges their unique and intersecting personal and cultural identities. - Identify appropriate interventions for clients in crisis, working effectively to access appropriate resources, and engaging community partners to develop an effective plan for supporting clients. - Provide Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST), SUD Targeted Case Management and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), and/or minor case management functions if needed. - Serve as a liaison to coordinate, makes referrals, or arrange for appropriate community resources when needed, acts as an advocate for the client as needed. - Actively participate in all treatment conferences and meetings for the clients; maintain ongoing frequent contact with other assigned OhioGuidestone professionals or outside agency professionals assigned to case. - Accurately and promptly, document and maintain client and family interactions including, legal, financial, and clinical documentation within agency guidelines. - Attend and participate in regular supervision. - Maintain all required licenses. - Exhibit positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required. - Demonstrate positive leadership, promote a team-based work environment and present the agency in the most positive light with all internal and external contacts.
