Job Description

Business Development Manager – Battery Energy Storage, Grid and Data Centers

Emerson

• Serve as a subject matter expert on BESS markets and Emerson’s solutions, including operations, control applications, and key industry drivers. Provide knowledge sharing and training across the North America Sales organization. • Identify target applications, customer needs, competitive activity, and opportunities where Emerson controls can add value. Recommend third party partners to strengthen solution offerings. • Lead engagement with battery and inverter OEMs to build strong, strategic partnerships. • Develop solution messaging aligned to the needs and priorities of North American power users, including data center developers, and support the sales team in positioning Emerson’s renewable energy solutions. • Collaborate with PWS Marketing and Communications to create product literature, presentations, and promotional media for renewable energy offerings. • Participate in new product development for energy storage solutions, gathering customer insights and market data to inform enhancements. • Identify, plan for, and participate in industry conferences and events that elevate Emerson’s renewable energy portfolio.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience
  • Knowledge of BESS facility operations, equipment, technologies, and control systems used in the North American power market
  • Experience in the BESS industry through a technology provider, end user, or developer (typically gained through 3 or more years in the field)
  • Experience in power generation marketing, sales, projects, operations, or product development (often developed over 5 or more years)
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25–35%
  • Authorization to work in the United States
