Role Description Rackspace is hiring a Technical Product Manager (TPM) to define and drive the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of platform automation, consumption experiences, integrations, and developer capabilities across Rackspace Private Cloud, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), and emerging cloud platform services. This role is responsible for simplifying how customers and internal teams consume cloud infrastructure and platform services through APIs, portals, automation frameworks, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), service catalogs, integrations, and AI-powered experiences. The TPM will work across engineering, architecture, operations, customer success, and go-to-market teams to create scalable, intuitive, and extensible platform capabilities that improve adoption, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes. Core Responsibilities - Own the platform automation and consumption experience roadmap across Rackspace cloud offerings. - Define product vision and strategy for platform capabilities including automation, self-service, integrations, APIs, developer experience, and AI-enabled workflows. - Drive customer-centric platform experiences through portals, APIs, service catalogs, Infrastructure as Code, and ecosystem integrations. - Identify opportunities to simplify platform adoption and reduce operational complexity for customers and internal teams. - Develop multi-year product roadmaps aligned with business objectives, customer needs, and technology strategy. - Leverage customer feedback, telemetry, market trends, and platform metrics to prioritize investments and measure success. Platform & Technical Scope - Cloud platform automation and orchestration. - VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, NSX, and related platform services. - Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, GitOps, CI/CD workflows). - Platform APIs, SDKs, and developer enablement. - Service catalog and self-service experiences. - Enterprise integrations including ITSM, ServiceNow, identity, security, and ecosystem tooling. - Multi-cloud and hybrid cloud platform capabilities. - AI and GenAI-enabled platform experiences, automation, and operational intelligence. - Platform reliability, lifecycle management, and operational readiness features. Execution & Delivery - Own and maintain prioritized product backlogs tied to measurable business and customer outcomes. - Partner closely with engineering teams to define requirements, architecture tradeoffs, and delivery plans. - Translate customer use cases into epics, features, and technical requirements. - Drive end-to-end product delivery from discovery through launch and adoption. - Establish success metrics and KPIs to measure platform adoption, customer satisfaction, and business impact. - Ensure platform capabilities are scalable, secure, supportable, and operationally ready. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement - Engage directly with customers to understand requirements, validate solutions, and gather feedback. - Conduct roadmap reviews, product demonstrations, and strategic customer discussions. - Partner with Sales, Solution Architects, Customer Success, and Marketing to communicate platform value and support adoption. - Collaborate with UX, engineering, operations, and support teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences. - Represent platform strategy and roadmap in leadership reviews and executive forums. Qualifications - 6+ years of experience in technical product management, platform engineering, cloud engineering, software engineering, or related technical disciplines. - Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, virtualization, platform services, and automation technologies. - Experience with VMware ecosystems including VCF, vSphere, NSX, and related technologies preferred. - Demonstrated experience delivering platform products, automation frameworks, APIs, integrations, or developer-focused capabilities. - Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitOps, CI/CD, or similar technologies. - Experience defining API strategies, platform extensibility models, and integration frameworks. - Familiarity with ServiceNow and enterprise platform integrations. - Understanding of Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native architectures, and modern platform engineering practices. - Experience leveraging telemetry, customer insights, and product metrics to drive prioritization and roadmap decisions. - Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear customer value propositions. - Proven ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, operations, architecture, customer success, and go-to-market teams. - Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience building or managing cloud platform products, private cloud services, or infrastructure platforms. - Experience with VMware Aria Automation, vRA, Service Broker, or related automation technologies. - Familiarity with AI, GenAI, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted platform operations. - Experience defining platform consumption experiences through UI, APIs, CLI, SDKs, Terraform providers, or service catalogs. - Experience working in managed services, cloud hosting, or enterprise infrastructure environments. - MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
