Role Description The Accounting Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the accounting department by performing a variety of financial and administrative tasks that ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with internal controls. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity, supporting reporting processes, and assisting with daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment. - Accurately record financial transactions in accounting systems, ensuring proper coding and documentation. - Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and resolving them in a timely manner. - Prepare and maintain financial records, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation for audits and internal reviews. - Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. - Generate financial reports such as expense summaries, revenue reports, and account aging reports as requested. - Monitor outstanding balances and collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper follow-up on receivables or vendor inquiries. - Maintain vendor and customer records, ensuring accurate contact details, tax information, and payment terms are up to date. - Support compliance with accounting policies, financial controls, and company procedures. - Provide general administrative and accounting support as assigned by the finance team. Qualifications - 2+ years of proven experience in accounting, or finance support roles. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or similar). - Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. - Excellent organizational and time management skills.
