Role Description The VP, Industry Affairs will serve as a distinguished expert and transformative commercial leader, responsible for shaping world-class relationships across all classes of trade and driving the strategic agenda that powers our growth vision. They will operate at the intersection of customer strategy, category leadership, and industry influence elevating company standing with the most important retailers, distributors, and trade partners in the marketplace. - Own and elevate senior relationships with key buyers, category leaders, and C-suite stakeholders across top national and regional accounts. - Lead strategic joint business planning with priority retail and distribution partners to drive aligned, measurable growth. - Serve as Monster Energy’s lead ambassador at industry forums, trade associations, and major customer engagements. - Set and execute the strategic roadmap for top accounts—delivering aggressive growth targets and activation plans. - Partner cross-functionally to build insight-driven business cases that secure customer investment and unlock opportunity. - Accelerate innovation by ensuring new products launch fast, scale quickly, and win in-market. - Identify and capture white space opportunities across existing accounts and underdeveloped trade channels. - Shape industry influence by tracking trends, engaging key stakeholders, and delivering Monster’s category leadership POV. - Develop bold, consistent trade messaging and prepare executives for high-impact external engagements. - Advise senior leadership with real-time market intelligence while building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performance team. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. - 10+ years of commercial leadership in CPG, beverage, or food & drug industries. - Proven success building senior-level customer relationships and driving measurable growth. - Deep expertise across all trade channels: convenience, grocery, mass, club, foodservice, and on-premise. - Strong command of category management, retail analytics, and trade marketing. - Executive presence with the ability to influence at the highest levels. - Experience engaging with trade associations or regulatory bodies is a plus. - Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and data-driven performance tools. Requirements - Competitive total compensation. - Estimated annual salary range: $160,875 — $214,500 USD. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship Key Responsibilities AI-first Software Engineering Strategy & Execution - Define and lead the AI engineering strategy aligned to enterprise technology, Data & AI, and business priorities. - Own end‑to‑end software engineering reimagination and rollout of AI-first tools and processes to our technology organization. - Ensure AI-first software solutions are engineered for security, resiliency, performance, cost efficiency, and operational sustainability. AI‑First Engineering & Platform Enablement - Establish and evolve AI‑first engineering standards, patterns, and best practices, including GenAI and agent‑augmented development approaches. - Drive adoption of AI‑assisted development tooling and modern engineering accelerators to improve developer productivity and quality. - Partner with Architecture and Platform teams to define reusable AI engineering reference architectures, integration patterns, and guardrails. - Promote consistency and scale across AI implementations while enabling innovation and responsible experimentation.
