Radar Engineer, SME, Communications Rep 5

• Oversees work in progress and reviews for the radar system, understanding and developing requirements and ensuring the system aligns with the requirement documents • Supports U-A with requirements analysis, design reviews, acquisition, prototype and production system testing, developmental and operational testing, system acceptance testing, and general engineering and product documentation reviews • Provide expert program management support, including schedule oversight, risk identification/mitigation, and coordination across government and contractor stakeholders to ensure successful execution of radar system initiatives • Support acquisition planning and documentation efforts by developing, reviewing, and advising on requirements, technical specifications, contract deliverables, and acquisition strategies in alignment with DoD/USAF policies and guidelines • Monitor and verify radar system requirements traceability, performance, and compliance by conducting analyses, assessments, and technical reviews to ensure all program objectives and operational needs are met • Establishes requirements for tools, test/support equipment, personnel, supplies, and technical documents • Ability to liaise effectively with units, MAJCOMS, HAF & PMO's, building relationships and facilitating communication and coordination as needed • Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards • Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives • Acts as an advisor to senior management and customers • Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity • Ability to support and engage with cross-functional IPTs and has strong stakeholder communication

Job Requirements

  • 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Master's in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience
  • Prior experience managing projects for the DoD
  • DoD/DAWIA Program Management Certification
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) from PMI certification
  • Clearance- Must possess and maintain a SECRET Clearance

This is a part-time position that can be based in Washington D.C., New York, or remote. The ACLU communications department creates, maintains, and expands message narratives to engage our supporters and other target audiences, to help protect and expand civil liberties and civil rights, and also illustrate the value and impact of the ACLU’s transformational work. What You’ll Do: - Work on a wide array of civil liberties and civil rights issues, including advocacy and litigation around free speech, immigrants' rights, national security, privacy and technology, reproductive rights, voting rights, and criminal justice reform. - Contribute to creating and expanding message narratives and use strategic communications to help bring attention to ACLU cases and advocate for policies we care about. - Gain experience on social media, media relations, storytelling, and more.
