About This Position: This network includes Cisco, Aruba, Brocade, Juniper, Riverbed and McAfee network devices to include Routers, Switches, Access Points, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and WAN Accelerators. What We Are Looking For? · Knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years’ experience as a Network Technician. · Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages. · Fundamental understanding of the OSI Model is required. · Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment. · Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is a Plus. · Knowledge and experience working with wireless technologies, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and WAN · Accelerators and associated technologies is highly desirable. · You will be part of a Team of Network Technicians and Engineers. Job Responsibilities Handles outage and maintenance tickets servicing more than 20000 users through onsite and remote troubleshooting assistance for layer 1 – 3 issues, hardware installations of new and upgraded routers, switches, COMSEC/TACLANES, McAfee intrusion prevention systems, Aruba wireless controllers, Riverbed Steelhead WANX’s, device configurations and reconfigurations, and LAN/WAN outage recovery. Troubleshooting outages and resolve network related issues. Local element for COMSEC – given briefings on troubleshooting TACLANES, Trained to re-key the TACLANES. Install and upgrade network devices and components. This includes switches, routers, and network monitoring devices. Expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures. Performed escalation and additional tasks as directed. Investigate, resolve, documente, and reporte the cause and corrective actions in the Incident Management System for all incidents assigned by the Service Desk. Skills The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence and continual improvement, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit, good written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, innovative thinking in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Good customer service and communication is necessary to ensure customer satisfaction and network reliability. A good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with severs and Cisco devices are a Plus. Experience, Education & Certification Requirements Clearance Requirements Minimum of a DOD Secret clearance is required to perform in this position. • Provide critical network support for all Aligned Energy networks to diagnose and respond to large-scale networking events • Work with ISPs to install and diagnose problems between Aligned Energy network and their infrastructure. • Work with internal teams to troubleshoot any internal networking issues that may arise. • Working knowledge of wireless networking for installation and troubleshooting • Deliver business focused solutions and processes that are simple, sustainable and repeatable • Partner with our broader engineering organization to reduce operational burden • Work closely with other networking staff to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new designs and products • Drive standards across the network and ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies • Monitor and manage communications during large-scale events utilizing an established process • Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc. • Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration for routers and DWDM equipment • Identify and take ownership for opportunities to automate repeatable networking tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools • Contribute through innovation to the reduction in the end-to-end cost of delivery • Some travel will be required as new sites come online
