• Provide on-site and remote administration and maintenance support for VA storage, server, backup, disaster recovery, and systems-management environments. • Install, upgrade, repair, configure, and retire hardware and software. • Troubleshoot system and storage configurations. • Apply approved application and security patches. • Manage system access. • Monitor logs and resource utilization. • Perform performance tuning and capacity-planning activities. • Create, execute, and monitor backups and data restorations. • Investigate replication and checkpoint issues. • Provision storage to VMware, Windows, and Linux hosts. • Support monthly coordinated installations. • Assist with inventory management for hardware and software resources. • Support SCCM test environments by testing operating-system deployments, application packages, upgrades, and Microsoft patches. • Respond to help-desk tickets. • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting assistance. • Support disaster-recovery and security activities. • Remediate identified vulnerabilities. • Create and maintain operating instructions, standard operating procedures, user guides, installation instructions, and monthly status documentation.

• Administers Windows development, test, and production servers including reloading, re-imaging, patching, GPO configuration, and OS hardening. • Diagnoses and resolves complex Windows OS, Active Directory, and server connectivity issues. • Performs daily monitoring of Windows systems, services, and performance; initiates proactive remediation. • Installs, removes, and upgrades Windows-based software packages and agents. • Owns Level 2 Windows-related tickets through resolution, including root cause analysis. • Provides system evaluation reports and contributes to operational recommendations for Windows environments. • Updates system records, ensures licensing compliance, and maintains accurate configuration data for Windows assets. • Creates runbooks and how-to guides; trains Level 1 analysts on Windows procedures.

• Administers Linux/Unix development, test, and production servers including reloading, re-imaging, patching, configuration, and shell-level maintenance • Diagnoses and resolves complex Linux/Unix OS, service, and connectivity issues • Performs daily monitoring of Linux/Unix systems, services, and performance; initiates proactive remediation • Installs, removes, and upgrades Linux/Unix packages using native package managers (yum, apt, rpm, etc.) • Owns Level 2 Linux/Unix-related tickets through resolution, including root cause analysis • Provides system evaluation reports and contributes to operational recommendations for Linux/Unix environments • Updates system records, ensures licensing compliance, and maintains accurate configuration data for Linux/Unix assets • Creates runbooks and how-to guides; trains Level 1 analysts on Linux/Unix procedures
