• Responsible for generating and developing new business within the property and builders risk lines of business • Maximizes opportunities for profitable new business and retention by leveraging business relationships, product knowledge and underwriting acumen • Maximizes profitability of territory through superior agency/brokerage management, development, and planning • Leads rigorous agency/brokerage review process, establishes strong business partnerships with Intact underwriters, claims and loss control staff • Strengthens the distribution system through agency/brokerage prospecting, activates new appointments and revitalizes existing agencies consistent with territorial strategy • Terminates agency/brokerage contracts when warranted • Anticipates the needs of the broker, analyzes trends, and implements proactive strategies that best position Intact • Communicates the underwriting appetite and generates qualified business opportunities for underwriters • Develops a highly disciplined approach to gathering territorial data and a high quality territorial profile • Demonstrates expertise of underwriting guidelines and maintains a broad knowledge of Intact’s operations and products
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
- 7-10 years of experience in the insurance industry and/or business development with some of these years in the insurance industry
- Preference for property or builders risk experience
- Independent agencies/ brokerage or business development within the insurance industry experience desirable
- CPCU preferred
