Role Description Cette mission s’inscrit dans le projet ERC-Synergy HARVEST qui est un programme de recherche ambitieux de 6 ans, visant à quantifier le rôle des sources hydrothermales superficielles dans la fertilisation en fer de l’océan, avec des implications majeures pour la productivité marine et le cycle global du carbone. L’objectif de la mission est de mettre œuvre et superviser des configurations de modélisation du projet ERC-Synergy HARVEST afin de quantifier le rôle des sources hydrothermales superficielles dans la fertilisation de l’océan et le cycle du carbone. - Concevoir, mettre en œuvre et exploiter des configurations de modélisation à haute résolution (CROCO–PISCES) et à échelle globale (NEMO–PISCES). - Garantir la robustesse, la reproductibilité et la performance des systèmes de modélisation (chaînes de calcul, workflows, diagnostics), en environnement de calcul haute performance. - Co-définir la stratégie de modélisation du projet en interaction étroite avec les différents work packages. - Participer à l’animation scientifique du consortium (réunions, ateliers interdisciplinaires) et à l’encadrement informel des jeunes chercheurs impliqués dans le volet modélisation. - Participer à l’analyse scientifique des résultats, à la formulation et au test d’hypothèses, ainsi qu’à la production de publications en lien avec les objectifs du projet. - Participer au développement de nouvelles paramétrisations des flux hydrothermaux et du cycle du fer dans les modèles océanographiques. - Contribuer aux interactions modèle–données en lien avec les campagnes d’observation (mesures in situ, plateformes autonomes), afin de contraindre et valider les simulations. Qualifications - Expertise avancée en modélisation océanique numérique, avec expérience confirmée sur des configurations haute résolution (idéalement CROCO et/ou NEMO). - Solides compétences en programmation scientifique (Fortran, Python) et en environnement de calcul haute performance (HPC). - Bonne compréhension des processus physiques océaniques et aptitude à les traduire en approches de modélisation robustes et innovantes. - Capacité à concevoir, structurer et piloter des systèmes de modélisation complets (forçages, spin-up, calibration, diagnostics, reproductibilité). - Maîtrise des modèles biogéochimiques marins (notamment PISCES ou équivalent) et compréhension des processus liés au cycle du carbone et/ou du fer.
