Working as part of Agile DevSecOps teams, this role ensures that CMM applications built using React, NodeJS, and AWS meet or exceed defined performance, reliability, and capacity objectives. The Performance Tester identifies performance bottlenecks, validates system resilience, and collaborates closely with development and infrastructure teams to optimize end-to-end system performance. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests to validate system scalability and responsiveness. - Define performance benchmarks and KPIs based on application SLAs, SOW requirements, and user load models. - Build, configure, and maintain performance test environments in AWS cloud infrastructure. - Design test scripts using JMeter, LoadRunner, or K6, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines for continuous performance monitoring. - Conduct baseline performance analysis and capacity planning for major CMM components. - Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and QA teams to identify performance bottlenecks and tune system configurations. - Analyze test results and prepare detailed performance reports, recommending optimization strategies. - Validate that application releases meet federal performance and reliability standards prior to production deployment. - Support failover and stress testing scenarios to verify system fault tolerance and scalability under load. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide performance insights during sprint planning and retrospectives. Tools & Technologies: - Performance testing: JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, K6. - Monitoring: Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack. - CI/CD integration: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions. - Reporting: Power BI, Tableau, or Grafana dashboards. - Collaboration: Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, MS Teams. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or relevant field) - 5+ years of experience with integration, regression, and system testing using automated testing tools in web-based applications - 5+ years of experience in software performance testing and engineering, with 3+ years in cloud-based or distributed systems. - Experience in writing test cases, test plans, executing test scripts, reporting defects and preparing test results reports - Experience in the entire QA Life Cycle, including designing, developing and execution on the entire QA process and documentation of test plans, test cases, test procedures and test scripts - Strong proficiency in JavaScript for scripting, test development, and automation across modern performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, or K6. - Strong knowledge of performance engineering principles, including concurrency modeling, resource utilization, and tuning. - Experience testing applications in AWS cloud environments (EC2, ECS, CloudWatch, RDS). - Working understanding of NodeJS, REST APIs, microservices, and front-end frameworks such as ReactJS. - Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for automated performance test execution. - Ability to interpret system logs, metrics, and profiling data to diagnose bottlenecks. - Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, ELK Stack, or Grafana. - Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills. - Experience with federal or enterprise-scale application performance testing. - Familiarity with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift). - Understanding of network performance testing and distributed tracing techniques. - Exposure to AI-driven performance analytics or predictive capacity modeling. - Knowledge of FinOps and cost optimization for cloud-based performance tuning. - Excellent presentation and communication skills. - Consultant mindset with the ability to work with high level customer stakeholders and build excellent customer relationships. - Experience identifying and applying industry tools, solutions, methods best practices, and emerging technologies. - Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently, and as part of a team. Certifications: - ISTQB Performance Testing Certification (CT-PT) – preferred. - AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or DevOps Engineer – preferred. - SAFe Practitioner (SPC/SSM) – beneficial. - Performance Engineering Certification – a plus. The likely salary range for this position is $96,569 - $130,651. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
