Mid-Level Creative Designer, Product Packaging
Atari
• Support packaging design and production for Atari hardware products, coordinating closely with our Packaging Designer, Hardware Project Coordinators, and manufacturing partners. • Design packaging for physical game releases across all Atari labels, working with internal teams and external distribution partners. • Support end-to-end production workflows for packaging (dieline creation, printer coordination, proofing, and quality control). • Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure production accuracy and timelines. • Help ensure packaging quality and consistency across all physical products and retail channels. • Provide creative input and direction on collector’s editions and special packaging for marketing and influencer programs. • Collaborate with internal teams to align packaging with overall brand strategy and visual identity. • Support packaging translations and approvals for international releases.
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in packaging design, with strong background in physical production and dieline creation.
- Proven experience working with printers, suppliers, and production teams to deliver high-quality consumer packaging.
- Portfolio demonstrating consumer-facing packaging design, ideally in entertainment, electronics, gaming, or pop culture.
- Strong understanding of packaging production processes, material choices, and print specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with external partners and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with working on licensed packaging and navigating brand approvals and guidelines.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat); experience with 3D rendering tools a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex packaging projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, cross-functional team environment.
- Interest in video games, pop culture, and retro fandoms is strongly preferred.
- Bonus: Experience working in European markets too
- Bonus: Experience in structural design (3D/CAD) in packaging
