Role Description This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): AZ, NC and TX. We have a highly engaged team of engineers and are driving a new custom developed platform and implementing automated testing on all newly developed projects. We are looking for people who have a passion for development and leading teams. The ideal candidate is a seasoned software developer with a history of operating in large enterprise environments. Banking experience is preferred, but not necessary. This individual would have tangible examples of how they have led development teams to successful deployments, coached and mentored junior developers, and contributed to enterprise level design of a system(s). They will also be able to clearly communicate and express complex ideas not only with development team members, but also business product owners, while establishing a working relationship built on trust through delivery. Responsibilities - The Sr Software Engineer will be responsible for all software aspects within the team including research, design, technology insertion, development, testing, and support. - Lead SCRUM Agile development teams. - Partner with architects and solution engineers to design and develop technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability. - Oversee proactive maintenance on our existing IaaS/SaaS and on-premises applications within the Digital, Cards, Risk, and Merchant Services to ensure our mission critical systems remain stable, are able to scale as our business grows, and remain fit-for-purpose. - Coordinate and assist with troubleshooting of code defects, data errors, and configuration problems to determine the origin of application errors. - Know how to support Business critical/complex applications. - Exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. - Drive departmental best practices, guidelines implementation and adhere to standards. - Show expertise in designing and developing real-time integrations, file-based integrations, and be able to optimize the use of database level processing. - Demonstrate empathy with developers and possess an innate desire to create a superlative developer experience down to the last detail. - Have a deep love of building elegant, maintainable, well-documented, secure code. - Always work to improve oneself and constructively support the team around them. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance. Preferred Qualifications - 6+ years of back-end microservices focused development experience. - Strong knowledge and experience with Java 11+. - Strong knowledge and experience with Standard Design Patterns such as Factories, Command, Facade, Adapter, and more. - Strong knowledge and experience with OOD/OOA. - Strong knowledge and experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks. - Strong knowledge and experience with REST and APIs. - Strong knowledge and experience with Unit Test and Mocking frameworks. - Strong knowledge and experience with git. - Basic knowledge and experience with Postman. - Basic knowledge of messaging queues (Kafka), caching techniques and elastic search. - Basic knowledge and experience with Docker and Kubernetes. - Basic knowledge and experience with Scrum and Agile. - Basic knowledge and experience with wikis. • Capital project engineering performance including all phases such as: scoping and budgeting, conceptual engineering, contract management and design, engineering design, construction, commissioning, and closeout. • Perform field circuit reviews based on the project scope given and identify proposed improvements. • Review sketches that include existing and proposed work actions according to approved construction standards. • Oversee and coordinate with internal and external resources the detailed designs according to approved construction standards. • Review design inputs for SAP system notifications and approve corresponding construction work orders. • Review and approve design detail to provide overview of work to be performed by line and commissioning contractors. • Create engineering bid documents with a focus on unit-based pricing for all projects within the service territory. • Interface with Construction and Commissioning resources to ensure efficient equipment installations. • Proactively develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve unique problems or to improve processes/services. • Other duties as assigned. • Utilize knowledge to influence and guide department engineers. • Willingness to have a hybrid office/remote schedule including field work required • Provide technical leadership in complex projects that have a wide impact on the department. • Mentor, develop and support team in technical skills • Ability to collaborate across departments • Liaison/direct contractors on company policy, standards, and best practices • Work independently with little supervision

• Work on developing product-aligned solutions based on priorities defined with the team, and support maintenance of applications in production; • Develop and maintain back-end applications using Python and/or Go, and contribute to front-end work in Angular when necessary; • Collaborate in building scalable and secure systems on AWS, following architecture best practices; • Support technical decisions and architectural evolutions, with guidance from more senior professionals; • Ensure delivery quality through development best practices, code reviews, and testing; • Actively participate in agile ceremonies and the product evolution process, proposing continuous improvements.
