Substation Test Technician
Signal Energy
• Work in a team performing functional, relay and SCADA testing in utility level substations. • Conduct equipment acceptance testing, relay and protection scheme testing, SCADA system testing. • Troubleshoot and problem-solve issues as they arise. • Perform equipment inspections at vendors' facilities. • Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Associate's degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering preferred or equivalent experience in industry (5+ years).
- 3-5 years working in or preferably testing substation equipment.
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (NFPA, IEEE, NETA, etc.).
- Understanding of applicable testing for equipment types noted above.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office, SEL, TapTalk, Doble, RTS, Adobe and others as needed.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to work in elevated positions.
- May be exposed to energized equipment.
- OSHA 10 hour NFPA 70E Training.
- FA/CPR Training.
