Senior Director, Accounting & Financial Reporting
Procore Technologies
Role Description Procore is looking for a Senior Director, Accounting & Financial Reporting to join our Finance team. In this role, you will lead and mature our corporate accounting, revenue accounting, technical accounting, SEC reporting, and M&A accounting functions. You will drive process efficiencies through technology and AI, and partner cross-functionally to support Procore’s strategic initiatives. You will leverage your deep technical accounting expertise, public company experience, and leadership skills to build a high-performing team, improve operational processes, and ensure the integrity of Procore’s financial reporting. This role reports to the SVP, Corporate Controller and is remote-eligible, with a preference for candidates based near our offices in Austin, TX or Carpinteria, CA. What you’ll do: - Lead and mature corporate accounting, revenue accounting, technical accounting, and SEC reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements. - Oversee M&A accounting diligence and post-close accounting integration, including purchase accounting, working closely with Corporate Development to support deal execution and ensure acquired entities are properly integrated into Procore’s financial reporting. - Own SOX accounting controls, continuously optimizing controls and processes to improve efficiency while maintaining a strong internal control environment. - Drive process efficiencies across the accounting organization, including through the adoption of AI and automation technologies to reduce manual effort and improve data quality. - Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Corporate Development, Sales, Strategy, IT, and other stakeholders to support new strategic initiatives and ensure accounting readiness. - Manage relationships with Procore’s external auditors, coordinating audit activities, resolving technical accounting matters, and ensuring timely completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits. - Lead technical accounting research and documentation, including drafting accounting position papers and ensuring appropriate application of new and evolving accounting standards. - Coach, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development. Qualifications - 12+ years of experience in accounting or related roles, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership position and a demonstrated track record of building and scaling high-performing teams. - Public company SEC reporting experience required, including preparation or oversight of 10-K, 10-Q, and related disclosures. - Strong US GAAP technical accounting expertise; Big 4 public accounting experience and/or public company technical accounting experience strongly preferred. - Experience with M&A accounting, including accounting diligence, purchase accounting, and post-close accounting integration of acquired businesses. - Demonstrated ownership of SOX compliance programs, including control design, optimization, and coordination with internal and external auditors. - Experience leveraging technology and AI to drive accounting process improvements and operational efficiencies. - Excellent communication and cross-functional partnership skills, with the ability to work effectively with FP&A, Legal, Corporate Development, IT, and executive leadership. - Experience within the Technology or SaaS industry preferred. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA required.
