Role Description As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be tasked with building, scaling, and optimizing SentinelOne's core data and caching infrastructure running at massive scale across Kubernetes clusters and multi-cloud environments. You will unlock complete cloud portability for applications and services while ensuring low-latency, high-throughput, and cost-effective operations. Your work will directly empower our autonomous cybersecurity platform to process petabytes of daily data with 99.99% uptime. What will you do? - Lead the design, operation, and end-to-end platform experience of mission-critical distributed data services, including Kafka or Redis, across Kubernetes clusters and multi-cloud environments. - Unlock complete cloud portability for SentinelOne apps and services by building a highly automated, self-service infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and air-gapped on-prem environments. - Manage and scale data infrastructure supporting petabytes/day ingestion to ensure low-latency, high-throughput, and cost-effective operations. - Consolidate and optimize multi-tenant Kafka clusters to reduce cost, improve resilience, and streamline operations. - Drive lifecycle automation for distributed data services using GitOps principles and tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Terraform to minimize operational toil and pager burden. - Define and implement standards for observability, high availability (HA), backup, and disaster recovery (DR) of workloads in Kubernetes. - Partner with FinOps and engineering stakeholders to continuously optimize performance, cost, and operational overhead across data platform components. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering with a proven track record of operating distributed systems at scale. - Hands-on experience with self-hosted Kafka and/or Redis running in Kubernetes, including performance tuning, scaling, and operator-based lifecycle management. - Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals and best practices for managing both stateless and stateful workloads in production or air-gapped deployments. - Multi-cloud experience with production expertise in at least one major provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices using tools like Terraform, ArgoCD, and CI/CD workflow automation (GitHub Actions). - Strong scripting or development skills in at least one mainstream language like Python, Go, or Ruby. Working collaboratively with your team, you will build robust solutions for data collection and analysis to boost our engineering teams' operational visibility. In this role, you will leverage standard procedures to support how SentinelOne monitors its own solutions while learning from senior colleagues. What Will You Do? - Core Feature Delivery: Understand the design of features being implemented, and independently design and implement well-defined features or components for diverse environments spanning Kubernetes clusters and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). - Service Efficiency: Contribute to the operational efficiency of our observability services (such as Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos, and OTEL) by completing assigned tasks and learning to balance system reliability with scale and cost-effectiveness. - Automation & Toil Reduction: Build and enhance basic automation tools and write scripts to automate operations and server management tasks under the guidance of senior engineers. - Code Quality: Write functional, clean code and unit tests with guidance, executing tests for scale, reliability, and velocity while participating in code reviews to understand team best practices. - Project Management: Estimate time to complete assignments, proactively communicate status, blockers, or delays, and work towards understanding your team's broader business objectives using agile engineering practices. - Operations & On-Call: Participate in on-call rotations, monitor and triage incident reports, and participate in postmortems, following existing runbooks closely before escalating issues. - Security & Compliance: Apply security standards, policies, and change management processes when deploying code into live environments, reporting vulnerabilities to senior team members. Qualifications - Foundational knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts within infrastructure, with exposure to current technologies through coursework, internships, or practical experience. - A strong aptitude to learn and existing exposure to observability technologies such as Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos/Mimir, or OTEL. - Familiarity with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes and multi-cloud environments (AWS and GCP). - Basic scripting skills and exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible. - Ability to write functional, clean code, with exposure to or a strong interest in mastering GoLang, alongside foundational debugging and troubleshooting skills. - Understanding of the software development lifecycle, modern CI/CD principles, and agile engineering practices.
