American Generator Services is Hiring a Generator Technician! Location: Remote Schedule: Full-Time Pay Rate: $30 – $65 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Employment Type: Full-Time Overview American Generator Services is seeking a highly experienced Generator Technician to join our growing team. This remote-based role allows you to operate from your home base while traveling to client sites to service, maintain, and repair critical power generation systems. If you are a seasoned professional who thrives in the field, enjoys solving complex electrical and mechanical challenges, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service, this opportunity is for you. Responsibilities - Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and load banking procedures on generators and related equipment. - Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues using schematics in the field. - Complete repairs, replacements, and system adjustments to restore optimal performance. - Test and commission generators and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). - Maintain detailed service documentation and complete work orders accurately. - Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams regarding findings and solutions. - Follow all safety procedures and company policies while on job sites. - Deliver outstanding customer service and build long-term client relationships.
Job Requirements
- Must Have:
- Own and provide your own professional tools.
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in the power generation field.
- Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot independently in the field.
- Experience servicing equipment from major generator manufacturers.
- Experience with load banking and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Nice to Have:
- Experience with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) installation, service, and repair.
