Senior Manager, EPC Procurement

Role Description The Senior Manager, Procurement is responsible for leading commercial strategy and contract negotiations for EPC agreements TerraForm Power’s solar & battery portfolio. As business needs require, the role will occasionally support equipment procurement. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in renewables, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to partner closely with project delivery, development, legal, finance, and external counterparties to optimize cost, risk allocation, and schedule certainty. Key Responsibilities - Lead competitive procurement processes and direct negotiations for EPC contracts in support of the TerraForm Power pipeline, with a focus on solar and/or energy storage projects. - Drive commercial strategy for EPC contracting, including bid strategy, contractor selection, scope alignment, pricing structure, schedule commitments, and risk allocation. - Partner closely with the project & legal teams to structure and negotiate contract terms, including pricing, project milestones, liquidated damages, warranties, change management, and remedies. - Support project delivery teams through contract administration and commercial issue resolution, including change orders, claims avoidance, contractor performance issues, and dispute mitigation. - Provide procurement and contracting input into project underwriting, project approvals, investment committee materials, and project execution planning. - As required, support procurement and negotiation of major equipment packages, including: - Solar PV modules - Battery energy storage systems - High-voltage electrical equipment, including transformers and breakers - Wind turbines (potential) - Coordinate with equipment suppliers, OEMs, and strategic vendors as needed to support project execution and owner-furnished equipment strategy. - Monitor EPC market conditions, contractor capacity, labor availability, commodity exposure, tariffs, and geopolitical risks to proactively inform contracting strategy. - Own the standardization & continuous improvement of EPC contract templates, commercial terms, procurement processes, and contract management practices across the portfolio. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Engineering, Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field. - 8+ years of experience in procurement, commercial management, or contract negotiation within renewable energy, power, or large-scale infrastructure. - Demonstrated experience negotiating complex contracts, including a strong understanding of risk allocation, contract law concepts, and project finance considerations. - Excellent project management skills. - Ability to lead negotiations independently with counterparties. - Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. - Experience across solar, wind, and/or energy storage projects strongly preferred. Requirements - Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000; bonus eligible.
