Job Description

Senior Product Designer – UX, UI

EMIL Group

• You are responsible for the end-to-end design of complex B2B SaaS workflows and take full ownership of our product’s UX, usability, and visual form. • Your goal: make configuration-heavy tools intuitive, consistent, and effective. • You continuously validate user needs through interviews, usability tests, and prototypes — before development begins. • You design complex user flows, wireframes, and a scalable information architecture for data-intensive interfaces (e.g., claims handling, workflow builders, admin panels). • You create high-fidelity mockups and prototypes and actively evolve our design system.

Job Requirements

  • Continuous validation: You continuously validate user needs with interviews, usability tests, and prototypes — before development starts.
  • Interaction design & systems thinking: You craft complex user flows, wireframes, and a scalable information architecture for data-intensive interfaces (e.g., claims, workflow builders, admin panels).
  • Visual design & design system: You produce high-fidelity mockups and prototypes and actively develop our design system — ensuring absolute consistency, especially for data-heavy UIs (tables, filters, forms).
  • AI-first design: You strategically use current AI tools (e.g., Figma Make, Claude) to translate user needs into outstanding UX more quickly, and you keep your toolset up to date in a rapidly evolving field.
  • Domain & knowledge building: You dive deep into the insurance domain and continuously expand our internal knowledge base.
  • Handover & voice of the user: You provide engineering with precise specs (assets, spacing, edge cases, states) and consistently advocate for the user's perspective internally — focusing on efficiency and error prevention.

Benefits

  • An attractive salary package that reflects your experience, qualifications, and responsibilities
  • A remote-friendly work model with occasional travel to our Berlin office
  • 30 days of vacation, plus we give you a half-day off on December 24 and 31
  • A personal training budget of at least €500 (possibly more), which we invest together in your professional development
  • Exciting internal growth opportunities thanks to a structured role-development model, regular feedback cycles, and performance reviews.
  • A company subsidy for Urban Sports Club membership to support your work-life balance
  • A heavily subsidized company pension plan to help secure your future
  • A VSOP program so employees can additionally benefit from the company's success
  • We provide modern hardware — you choose Windows or macOS
  • Weekly company lunches and a well-stocked snack bar for when you need a quick bite
  • As part of a dynamic, motivated team of experts you directly benefit from your colleagues' knowledge — teamwork and mutual support are essential parts of our culture

• Own discovery and design on problems that don't always come with a clear brief, from early framing through delivery and QA. • Work closely with engineers and PMs to move from a fuzzy problem to something well-reasoned and shippable. • Deliver across surfaces, GUI and CLI alike, and stay engaged through implementation, not just handoff. • Treat feedback as part of the work, not a checkpoint. Seek it out from peers, your team, and your manager, and use it to make the work better. • Take initiative in how you collaborate and push for clarity, even on projects you're not leading. • Understand the product areas you touch well enough to know when a decision has implications beyond the immediate problem. • Use AI tools where they actually help, synthesizing research, exploring directions faster, pressure-testing ideas.
