World Languages Editorial Assistant
Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce
• Work closely with lead editor of Languages and Linguistics to project manage a variety of projects • Liaise with authors, as needed • Manage the peer review process for all languages and linguistics proposals • Perform some light developmental editing of textbooks • Assess and format manuscripts to prepare for publication • Assess, QA, and review multimedia files to prepare for publication • Post and organize webpages for additional multimedia resources on WordPress
Job Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. required
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in an office required
- Intermediate proficiency or higher in a language other than English
- Fluency in English
- At least 1 year of experience in book publishing is preferred
- Remote work hours must be during Eastern Time regular business hours

Role Description We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Acquisition Editor. In this role, you will focus on recruiting new authors and content for our Journal. - Identify and recruit new authors, guiding them through the manuscript submission process for JoVE Journal. - Contact potential Guest Editors and collaborate with them to build a Methods Collections, our version of a special issue. - Establish and maintain a strong network of scientists/journal authors to drive content acquisition and grow submission rates. - Collaborate with the peer review team to facilitate the publication of manuscripts. - Meet or exceed monthly acquisition targets. Qualifications - A Ph.D. in the Life Sciences. - Fluent communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese & English. - Results-driven, with an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. - Strong organizational, influencing and problem-solving skills. - Familiarity with the publishing process is a plus. Role Description ICF is seeking experienced Title IV-E Peer Reviewers to join a team of child welfare professionals to support the Children’s Bureau with conducting onsite reviews in states. Title IV-E Reviewers will apply the Title IV-E Foster Care Eligibility Review Instrument to review child welfare agencies’ compliance with requirements for claiming IV-E foster care payments. This will be an Independent Consultant opportunity and will require travel to week-long onsite reviews which occur from Sundays to Fridays. Candidates must be available for the full week of review activities for any reviews committed to. Position availability is dependent upon contract award to ICF; qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for consideration by filling out an application. Key Responsibilities: - Assisting CB in conducting a Title IV-E Review by: - Working alone or with a state reviewer: reviewing case records, and completing the Review Instrument - Using professional judgement to make case rating decisions based on Review Instrument instructions and regulations - Participating in group meetings during the onsite review as required - Assisting in compiling a summary of the team’s findings during the onsite review - Participating in periodic and refresher training or review of materials as required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public administration, counseling, or a closely related field - Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a IV-E program determining IV-E eligibility, and/or experience participating in Title IV-E reviews. - Extensive working knowledge of IV-E eligibility criteria. - Strong assessment skills, including the ability to: - synthesize information from a variety of sources; - take notes and compile information obtained from multiple sources; - make professional judgments about IV-E eligibility based on the information collected during the reviews.
