Role Description We are seeking a Documentation Specialist who will be part of a collaborative and agile team that supports and builds modern, usable, and responsive applications for mission-critical health IT solutions. This person must have a background in Section 508/Accessibility Compliance. We’re looking for someone with a growth mindset who can learn the product, help in writing, and is willing to learn how to help in various ways across the team outside of documentation management. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years in supporting project documentation activities, or 6 years of experience will satisfy education and experience requirements. - Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail – background in professional, business, or government writing a plus. - Expertise in Section 508 Compliance requirements and tools, including at least 3 years of experience making complex documents into accessible PDFs that pass JAWS. - Experience working with an agile software development team. - Able to keep up with a fast-paced environment and learn new skills and topics quickly. - Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with management, peers, and customers, as well as demonstrate sound judgment/reasoning skills. - Flexible and adaptable to change. - Organized, efficient, and able to meet deadlines. - Naturally collaborative, eager to learn, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. - Expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.), Atlassian Confluence/Jira, Adobe Acrobat Professional. - Experience creating flow charts using Lucidchart, Visio, or similar tools, and cleaning up screenshots with tools such as Snagit. - Expertise in Atlassian Confluence – knowledge of Jira and other Agile tools. - Experience working with Federal Healthcare IT Projects, along all phases of the agile software development life cycle. - Experience with project coordination. - Knowledge of Healthcare IT/Medicare & Medicaid systems and data. Requirements - Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation. - Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States. - Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years. Responsibilities - Thoroughly review, edit, rewrite, version, finalize, and maintain documentation that meets quality standards. - Coordinate with both peers and client on moving the documentation through the review process, tracking changes, and verifying all questions/comments are addressed before finalization. - Documentation types may include (but are not limited to) project plans, system requirements, analysis reports, code documentation, implementation plans, security plans, interface control documents, user guides, test plans and reports, white papers, Confluence pages, etc. - Ensure accuracy of document versioning and maintenance within the designated repository/collaboration site. - Act as a scribe at project/team meetings to record decisions, questions, and action items. - Create and maintain Confluence pages, including implementing reader friendly macros and assisting with assigning/tracking site permissions. - Assist with training/troubleshooting peers as it relates to documentation and Confluence/SharePoint repositories. - Test documentation for accessibility per 508 Compliance standards using Adobe, JAWS or other tools, and correct documentation errors as needed to meet WCAG 2.2 compliance. - Assist with onboarding and offboarding team members (including guiding them through the process of obtaining access to client systems). - Assist with various project management administrative duties. - Assist with set up for agile program ceremonies, scheduling meetings, and capturing high-level action items and risks. - Assist program in all process improvement activities. Proactively look for areas of improvement in processes, data gaps, and recommend solutions and enhancements. - Support Mission Assurance, CMMI compliance, and gate reviews as needed. - Create documentation, which is grammatically correct, concise, and clearly conveys the required information to End User/Customer/Management personnel. - Ensure that the grammar, format, and expression of all documentation is consistent with Softrams and client standards.
