• Lead and manage union certification and decertification applications before the OLRB and comparable provincial tribunals. • Counsel clients on organizing campaigns, neutrality agreements, card-check processes, and decertification strategies. • Draft applications, pleadings, and briefs; appear as advocate at hearings and mediations; negotiate settlements. • Draft or review collective agreement language, workplace policies, and client-facing communications related to certification matters. • Serve as primary liaison to in-house HR and legal teams, delivering clear roadmaps to mitigate legal risk during union drives. • Work with colleagues in employment standards, human rights, and occupational health & safety to provide integrated advice.
Job Requirements
- JD or equivalent, called to the Ontario bar.
- 3-6 years of employer-side labour law experience, with a proven track record in certification/decertification matters.
- Demonstrated success at the OLRB or similar tribunals (Ontario, BC, Alberta, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of the Canada Labour Code, Ontario Labour Relations Act, and related statutes.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple files, meet tight deadlines, and deliver pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and client-service orientation.

• Advise clients on the full spectrum of commercial property matters: acquisitions, disposals, leases, landlord/tenant issues, and development projects • Negotiate, draft, and review a broad range of property contracts and agreements • Manage due diligence and compliance for commercial property transactions • Provide pragmatic, business-focused solutions to complex commercial property problems • Build, maintain, and develop strong client relationships as a trusted adviser
