How You’ll Make an Impact - Report to the Team Lead, Underwriting. - Provide support to the Mortgage Underwriters to ensure all follow-up on files are completed and all conditions met prior to closing. - Follow up on commitments and request specific documents. - Verify accuracy of specifications on mortgage documents. - Ensure all conditions of mortgage approval are met. - Route risk-involved matters to Underwriter for evaluation. - Analyze land titles, purchase contracts, and appraisal reports for inconsistencies. - Confirm all closing details including dates, client information, and payment frequency. - Collaborate with both internal and external customers of Bridgewater Bank and AMA to achieve departmental and organizational goals. - Responsible for completing Quality Assurance audits on assigned files. Qualifications - You have a high school diploma. - You have one to two years' lending institution experience. - You know your way around computers and have a demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the underwriting team by gathering, verifying, and organizing data from policyholder applications, financial records, and other supporting documents. A high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure accurate underwriting decisions are made. RESPONSIBILITIES - Collect, review, and process financial records and other documentation needed for the underwriting process. - Assist in gathering additional information at the request of underwriting partners. - Organize and maintain client files, ensuring that all required documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date. - Support the underwriting team with administrative tasks, such as document organization and report preparation. - Collaborate with agency partners to collect compliance documents and address inquiries from agencies and insureds. - Assess risk by accurately completing Amerisure’s underwriting risk assessment tools. - Recognize discrepancies or missing information in applications and take steps to address and resolve the issues. - Maintain accurate records of data. - Assist the underwriting team with administrative duties, including document organization and report preparation. - Learn and adhere to underwriting guidelines and procedures.
