Amerisure is recruiting for an Underwriting Assistant to join our team! This role will be hybrid 3 days a week in the local office & 2 from home. Office locations include Atlanta GA, Charlotte NC, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, Farmington Hills MI, Indianapolis IN, Phoenix AZ, St. Louis MO or Tampa FL. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the underwriting team by gathering, verifying, and organizing data from policyholder applications, financial records, and other supporting documents. A high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure accurate underwriting decisions are made. RESPONSIBILITIES - Collect, review, and process financial records and other documentation needed for the underwriting process. - Assist in gathering additional information at the request of underwriting partners. - Organize and maintain client files, ensuring that all required documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date. - Support the underwriting team with administrative tasks, such as document organization and report preparation. - Collaborate with agency partners to collect compliance documents and address inquiries from agencies and insureds. - Assess risk by accurately completing Amerisure’s underwriting risk assessment tools. - Recognize discrepancies or missing information in applications and take steps to address and resolve the issues. - Maintain accurate records of data. - Assist the underwriting team with administrative duties, including document organization and report preparation. - Learn and adhere to underwriting guidelines and procedures. REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or GED. - Experience in the insurance industry, financial services, customer service or administration, preferred. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers. - Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite. - Demonstrated successful ability to input data with a high accuracy rating, and strong attention to detail. - Excellent customer service skills - Ability to travel occasionally, less than 5% Just as we are committed to creating exceptional value for our Partners For Success® agencies and policyholders, Amerisure also remains committed to being an employer of choice.
