District Sales Manager
Steinway & Sons
• Responsible for calling on assigned dealers to assist them in achieving expected sales levels. • Work with dealers to implement sales and promotional activity for Steinway, Boston and Essex pianos. • Support Dealers in managing inventories to ensure they maintain an inventory in showroom condition • Support promotional planning for assigned Dealers, including implementation of the Steinway annual promotional calendar • Partner with dealers to develop and document sales plans and promotional activities • Prepare follow up reports to document decisions and action items • Conduct follow up meetings to review results and identify opportunities for improvement • Provide sales support, coaching and training to enhance sales results • Coach dealers on use of our recommended CRM system to manage customer communications • Liaise with Dealers on key components of Steinway sales, including Concert & Artist activities, Service & Technical Support, Merchandising, Sales Training, Product Knowledge, Promotional Planning and Execution, Institutional Sales, Inventory planning and orders. • Oversee dealer-related activities, formalized communications and achievement of sales targets.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent on the job experience in business, customer service, luxury sales or the arts
- 5+ years of strong piano sales management experience is required.
- Outstanding business development and sales management skills
- Strong relationship building skills
- Superior communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Strong follow-up and documentation skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and Excel
- Highly motivated, results-oriented self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and drive new business
- Piano or music experience / background required
- Extensive travel (up to 50%) is required for this role. Must live nearby major airport.
