Senior Director, Product & Experience Marketing
ThumbtackWe help people care for their home from top to bottom — and empower small businesses nationwide to grow.
Role Description This Sr. Director role leads both Product Marketing and Experience Marketing at a pivotal moment for Thumbtack. Demand is growing ahead of plan, the product roadmap is ambitious, and the company is investing seriously in the marketing capability that will turn transactional usage into lasting relationships. You will own strategy and execution across PMM and Experience Marketing, manage a team of experienced marketers, and work closely with Product, Commercial, and Growth leadership to keep these functions tied to the outcomes that drive the business forward. - Serve as the voice of the homeowner and the professional inside Thumbtack — building a continuous, rigorous understanding of what both audiences need, how they make decisions, and where the product earns or loses their trust, and bringing that perspective into product planning before decisions are made. - Partner with product and senior leadership to shape product vision and strategy, contributing customer insight, market perspective, and positioning upstream of the roadmap rather than downstream of engineering. - Lead Product Marketing to define positioning and product narrative ahead of the roadmap — for both homeowners and professionals — ensuring messaging holds coherence across a two-sided marketplace from company narrative through in-product copy. - Set the strategic direction for Experience Marketing, connecting Lifecycle, Landing Page optimization and Content Marketing so behavioral signals and content performance inform each other and align with the broader growth strategy. - Partner directly with the CPO, CCO, and Growth leadership on roadmap priorities, go-to-market strategy, and commercial alignment. - Represent your team's strategy and results clearly to senior leadership and serve as a credible voice for PMM and Experience Marketing in cross-functional conversations. - Develop your team, create clear accountability, and foster an environment where strong marketers do their best work. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in product marketing, lifecycle marketing, or both, including significant experience leading high-performing teams at the Senior Director level (or equivalent) within a high-growth company. - A track record of working closely with product teams, not just downstream of them; you have built positioning and messaging frameworks that hold across multiple audiences and a complex product portfolio. - Demonstrated ability to build positioning and messaging frameworks that hold across multiple audiences and a complex product portfolio. Preferred experience in a two-sided marketplace, where the same product must earn trust with consumers and business users who care about very different things. - A clear point of view on how segmentation, personalization, and behavioral data should shape how a company communicates with its users over time. - Strong cross-functional instincts—you earn trust with product, engineering, and commercial teams by being specific, rigorous, and useful. - A commitment to developing your team and building clear accountability structures that help strong people do their best work. Requirements - Expected salary ranges for candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros: $270,300 - $349,800. - Expected salary ranges for candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states: $243,100 - $314,600. - Expected salary ranges for candidates living in all other US locations: $229,500 - $297,000. - Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Benefits - Thumbtack embraces diversity and is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. - We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, age, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status, military or veteran status, genetic information, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law. - We will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records, consistent with applicable law. - Thumbtack is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities.
