Senior Financial Analyst
onXonX is a distributed company with more than 400 employees across the country. We come together regularly to work in person and stay connected through regional basecamps and a culture that balances individual ownership with deep collaboration. While we move quickly, we’re not a scrappy start-up. We operate with clear goals, structure, and frameworks that guide how we prioritize and execute. Clear priorities and structure don’t limit ownership - they make it possible. You’ll have the autonomy to define your work and make meaningful decisions within clear strategic boundaries.
Role Description In the role of Senior Financial Analyst – Strategic Finance & Special Projects, you will serve as a high-impact analytical resource for onX's most senior leaders. Rather than supporting a specific product vertical, you will work directly at the direction of the CEO, CFO, and Senior Director of FP&A on the company's most complex, ambiguous, and consequential financial and strategic questions. You will operate at the intersection of finance and data — with the technical depth to pull and interrogate data independently and the business acumen to translate findings into clear narratives that shape executive decision-making. What You'll Do - Lead end-to-end analysis on special and ad hoc projects assigned by the CEO, CFO, and Senior Director of FP&A, focusing on operational and business performance across the company. - Identify trends and anomalies, construct a narrative, and deliver clear recommendations. - Perform financial modeling and analysis to evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities, new business lines, pricing strategies, operational investments, etc. - Manage ad-hoc projects that include areas of analysis such as market sizing, scenario modeling, long-term strategic opportunity assessment, etc. - Develop and stress-test business cases for major strategic initiatives, providing leadership with a grounded view of expected returns and key assumptions. - Independently source, extract, and manipulate data from multiple internal and external sources. - Partner closely with the Business Intelligence team to build scalable data pipelines, improve data accessibility, and inform the development of analytical infrastructure that supports the broader finance function. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related analytical field. - Five (5) or more years of experience in finance, strategy, investment banking, management consulting, or a related analytical function. - Advanced SQL proficiency — comfortable writing complex queries, joining multiple data sources, and extracting insights independently from large datasets. - Strong financial modeling capabilities, including scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, DCF, and ROI frameworks. - Experience working directly with or embedded near a Business Intelligence or data engineering function. - Demonstrated ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments with minimal direction. - Exceptional written communication skills — ability to produce narrative-format analyses and recommendations for senior leadership. - Proven comfort presenting complex analyses to C-suite and senior executives. - A desire to learn and actively leverage AI tools to improve analytical speed and quality. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. - Experience in a B2C SaaS or subscription business is strongly preferred. - Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX. - A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values. Requirements - MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field (preferred but not required). - M&A, corporate development, or investment banking experience (preferred but not required). - Strong preference for candidates located in Salt Lake, Missoula, or Bozeman. Benefits - Competitive salaries, annual bonuses, equity, and opportunities for growth. - Comprehensive health benefits, including a no-monthly-cost medical plan. - Paid parental leave of 13 weeks for birthing parents and 5 weeks for non-birthing parents. - 401k matching at 100% for the first 3% you save and 50% from 3-5%. - Company-wide outdoor adventures and amazing outdoor industry perks. - Annual “Get Out, Get Active” funds to fuel your active lifestyle. - Flexible time away package that includes PTO, STO, VTO, and paid holidays.
