Role Description We are seeking a Junior Manual QA Engineer to support a live production platform with high-volume, client-impacting workflows. This role will focus on manual functional testing, regression testing, API validation, backend data validation, defect documentation, and production issue triage. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience validating end-to-end user workflows, and the ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering, Support, and business-facing teams to diagnose and resolve issues quickly. Enterprise experience strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities - Analyze and troubleshoot production issues impacting live workflow functionality. - Perform manual functional, regression, and end-to-end testing for user workflows. - Validate APIs and backend integrations using Postman. - Reproduce, document, and track defects, test results, and workflow issues in Jira. - Validate backend data using SQL and troubleshoot data inconsistencies. - Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Support, and business-facing teams to resolve client-impacting issues. - Monitor production systems and support incident triage and validation. - Support testing for architecture changes, integrations, enhancements, and new platform releases. - Investigate frontend and network issues using browser developer tools. - Help ensure timely issue resolution while supporting SLA expectations. - Interpret product requirements, user workflows, and business problems to design and execute relevant test cases. Qualifications - 2 years of manual QA or software testing experience. - Strong experience with manual testing, including end-to-end workflow validation and user functionality testing. - Experience with regression testing after releases, enhancements, or platform changes. - Hands-on experience using Postman for API testing and response validation. - Experience testing REST APIs and validating backend integrations or services. - Strong SQL skills for backend data validation, troubleshooting, and test verification. - Experience documenting defects, test results, and workflow issues in Jira. - Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Support. - Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, including sprint cycles, testing ceremonies, and release validation. - Strong understanding of product functionality, user workflows, and business requirements. - Ability to identify, design, and execute test cases based on product requirements and business problems. - Ability to translate product needs into effective testing scenarios and validation plans. - Experience with WCAG standards and accessibility tooling. - Experience investigating frontend or network issues using browser developer tools. Nice-to-Have Skills - Experience using Datadog for log review, monitoring, and troubleshooting. - Familiarity with Kafka and asynchronous workflow validation. - Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases for backend data validation. - General understanding of CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and release validation activities. - Experience working with SaaS platforms or customer-facing or employer-facing applications. By reviewing medical records, claim forms, invoices, and related documentation, this role helps ensure eligible and ineligible claim outcomes align with Trupanion policies and quality standards. Additionally, this position supports claim audits, payment validation reviews, problem-solving initiatives, and recommendations that contribute to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
