Job Description

Solutions Engineer II

ShipBob, Inc.

• Engage directly with merchants to understand requirements for their B2B/Dropshipping expansion opportunities: retailers’ expectations, timelines, volumes, technical needs, etc. • Translate all of the above—in combination with merchants’ overall goals—into clear, actionable solutions/approaches that balance feasibility, complexity, and value. • Evaluate retailer-specific technical & operational requirements: EDI-related, routing, labeling, etc.) to confirm what can be supported. • Conduct feasibility-checks across tech-stacks and operational workflows/capabilities to confirm the extent to which ShipBob can support. • Identify risks, gaps, and mission-critical changes early in the opportunity-lifecycle. • Scope and document opportunities (via use of Retail Summaries, Merchant Success Plans, and internal briefs) to ensure alignment on responsibilities and expectations. • Support internal approvals, opportunity-creation, and Prepaid billing recommendations. • Provide sales-adjacent support where needed, ensuring clarity amongst all internal & external stakeholders. • Prepare opportunities for handoff by producing clear documentation and ensuring all mission-critical steps are complete for Implementation readiness. • Partner closely with Implementation teams to maintain continuity through go-lives and ensure solutions land as designed. • Champion process & product evolution by recommending improvements to B2B-centric processes, playbooks, etc. so as to optimize merchants’ experiences.

Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in solutioning-forward roles, such as Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or similar customer-facing technical roles.
  • Familiarity with compliance-centric Retail requirements (routing, labeling, SLAs) and EDI/API integrations that facilitate compliant fulfillment.
  • Ability to assess and articulate technical & operational feasibility and/or constraints.
  • Comfort working with EDI standards, APIs, data-mapping, and general concepts of integrated systems.
  • Ability to tie technical & operational decisions to business outcomes for merchants.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders and push progress across complex projects without direct authority.
  • Effectively simplifying complex requirements and writing clear Merchant Success Plans.
  • Experience developing effective, repeatable frameworks that result in both efficiency and quality.
