Job Description
Director, Product Design
Jasper
• Own and guide the design strategy for Jasper, setting the vision for how enterprise marketing teams will work with AI and making the design calls that shape where the product and company go • Maintain the highest standards of visual and interaction design across the product. Set and raise the bar on every surface, holding the line on polish and consistency that enterprise customers paying six and seven figures expect • Lead a small, high-velocity design team as a player-coach — coaching and upleveling designers while staying deeply hands-on, prototyping and vibe coding with tools like Cursor and Claude Code and shipping real work to production • As a member of the EPD leadership team, work alongside Product and Engineering leaders to keep evolving how Jasper builds software with AI • Accelerate, innovate, and define AI-first ways of designing and AI-first design-to-front-end pipelines, pioneering how prototypes go from concept to working, production-ready code • Extend Jasper's design system and the context and skills our coding agents rely on • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to define the problems worth solving and shape roadmaps that deliver on customer outcomes • Build a high-trust, inclusive, feedback-driven design culture that values autonomy, learning, and accountability • Establish and run the team's craft rituals — design critiques and reviews — that elevate quality and develop designers • Coach and support designers in their career growth, fostering both craft and leadership development • Play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and scaling the design organization as the team grows
Job Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual design craft and strong end-to-end product thinking
- 4+ years leading and managing design teams, with a track record of building and developing high-performing, high-craft teams in a high-growth SaaS or product-led environment
- A genuine player-coach: you can lead and uplevel a team and you remain proficient and hands-on yourself — equally comfortable coaching a designer and shipping the work
- Demonstrated experience building AI-first design workflows and design-to-front-end pipelines — you have hands-on fluency with AI-native and vibe coding tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, v0) and can point to real work you've shipped to production. This is non-negotiable at Jasper
- Proven ability to build and own a coherent, well-governed design system — you sweat the details and hold the bar so experiences feel consistent across every surface, the way enterprise buyers expect
- Outstanding UI and visual design judgment — a refined eye for typography, colour, layout, spacing, and hierarchy, and the ability to hold the team to it
- Working knowledge of front-end code (HTML, CSS, React/JSX) and fluency with modern design tools (Figma) — you can read, review, and riff in code when needed
- Experience designing for AI-native or AI-augmented products, with an understanding of the unique UX challenges they present (non-deterministic outputs, prompt interfaces, copilot patterns, trust and transparency)
- Background in B2B or enterprise SaaS, ideally at an AI-native company or one that has strongly pivoted to AI; go-to-market or marketing-adjacent product experience is a plus
- A pragmatist's mindset: you balance design ideals with business reality, shipping velocity, and engineering constraints without sacrificing quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and influence across technical and business stakeholders, including leadership.
Benefits
- Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision coverage beginning on the first day for employees and their families
- 401(k) program with up to 2% company matching
- Equity grant participation
- Flexible PTO with a FlexExperience budget ($900 annually) to help you make the most of your time away from work
- FlexWellness program ($1,800 annually) to help support your personal health goals
- Generous budget for home office set up
- $1,500 annual learning and development stipend
- 16 weeks of paid parental leave
