Job Description

Critical Power Field Technician – UPS Engineer

Pearce Services

• Install electrical equipment such as small rack-mounted UPS equipment, various-sized batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring equipment. • Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass, Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical equipment. • Perform remedial services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and installations. • Provide excellent customer service and upsell products. • Field troubleshooting calls from customers to a satisfactory resolution. • Quickly respond to critical situations. • Teach and mentor crew members on proper techniques for site work. • Isolate hardware, software, and interface malfunctions using test equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Prior military training in electronics or avionics preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third-party critical power field service or technical support role -OR- minimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service environment.
  • Good understanding of AC/DC electrical principles.
  • Knowledge of test equipment operation (multi-meters, battery test equipment).
  • Read and interpret electronics schematics.
  • Understand compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.
  • Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability.
  • Good judgment and ability to make timely decisions in fast-paced environments.
