Instructional Design & Trainer, Specialist

Role Description The Instructional Design and Training Specialist is responsible for overseeing the internal training team. They play a pivotal role in leading a team of instructional designers to create engaging, effective, and scalable learning experiences. This role combines leadership, project management, and instructional design expertise to ensure the successful delivery of learning solutions aligned with organizational goals. Additionally, the Specialist is responsible for writing and editing the learning content for end-user training and creating job aids and documentation. - Provide Acentra Health Program Director, Client Training Manager, or Acentra Health Learning Director with project and content development expertise and management. - Oversee the design and development of learning programs from concept to delivery. - Manage one or more workstreams. - Manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations. - Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with quality and team standards. - Provide guidance on the day-to-day activities of internal training team members, including prioritization of work, development and execution of work plan tasks, coordination of resources, and meeting plans. - Prepare and maintain documentation and all course materials for role-based education. - Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM). - Review and approve learning materials including eLearning, instructor-led training, job aids, and blended learning solutions. - Manage the development and implementation of training programs for the assigned applications and impacted end users. - Act as a resource to aid in E-Learning course development, ongoing new hire education, go-live/end-user support, and other duties pertinent to onboarding & education. - Ensure learning solutions are inclusive, accessible, and measurable. - Collaborate with subject matter experts, business leaders, and other L&D team members. - Translate business needs into effective learning strategies. - Communicate project status and outcomes to stakeholders. - Establish and maintain design standards, governance, and best practices. - Evaluate learning effectiveness and recommend improvements. - Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules. Qualifications - Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. - A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in instructional design, focused on employee training, with at least 5 years in a senior role. - Ability to pass a National Agency Check Investigation (NACI). - Proficiency in authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), LMS platforms, and multimedia tools. - Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design models, and assessment strategies. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. - Experience managing multiple projects and leading cross-functional teams. - Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and presentation skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and demonstrate the impact of learning initiatives. - Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, capable of gathering stakeholder needs and executing a strategy to meet them. - Experience with HR technology solutions and platforms that support employee engagement and feedback. Requirements - Masters Degree (preferred). - Proven experience leading training development in a decentralized model, collaborating with multiple stakeholders with various training needs (e.g., technology, compliance, customer care, etc.), and establishing a governance structure that enabled strategy execution. - Knowledge of Accessibility standards. - Certifications in instructional design. - Project management experience preferred. - Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
