Role Description Woolpert is hiring a Geospatial LiDAR Processor to join its dynamic Geospatial team at the Johannesburg, South Africa office. As a Geospatial LiDAR Processor at Woolpert, you will: - Process and analyse airborne and ground data to meet client specifications - Apply advanced digital mapping techniques, including LiDAR post-processing, photogrammetry, and terrain modelling - Perform LiDAR post-processing tasks - Conduct aerial triangulation - Carry out orthophoto rectification - Create and edit DEM (Digital Elevation Model) and DSM (Digital Surface Model) outputs - Develop 3D mesh models - Process oblique imagery - Contribute to planning and problem-solving in sectors such as environmental conservation, urban planning, disaster management, and resource exploration - Work successfully within a team, follow detailed instructions, and consistently demonstrate professionalism across all tasks and interactions - Effectively receive, backup, evaluate, and analyze LiDAR, imagery, and ground data, ensuring data quality and error detection - Efficiently process airborne data to client-ready deliverables that meet specified requirements and accuracy standards - Perform QC/QA reviews, provide clear and accurate progress updates, and collaborate with the LiDAR Team Leader and senior team members to drive continuous improvement Qualifications - 3 Years experience in the Geospatial industry - Relevant qualifications in Geography, Geomatics, Geospatial Sciences, GIS, Remote Sensing, or a related field - Proficiency in basic GIS software packages, QGIS, Global Mapper, ESRI - Strong knowledge of geospatial data formats, coordinate systems, and data projections - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex spatial concepts into actionable insights - Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment - Prior experience working with LiDAR, GIS, and remote sensing technologies is preferred, for example: Terrasolid & Microstation etc. Benefits - Diverse experiences: Work on meaningful projects that improve quality of life around the world - Freedom to work program: Set your own schedule and location (as appropriate) - Principal program: Earn the opportunity to become an owner of the firm - Career development: Explore a wide range of learning and growth opportunities within and across industries - Fitness reimbursement, technology stipend, employee assistance program, and more: Choose the benefits that work best for you
