This position works directly with students, faculty, and staff of the Auraria Campus across a variety of areas including graphic design, large format printing, 3D printing, and related makerspace tools, photo and video cameras, and audio equipment. This position provides consulting services in professional resources and tools related to these areas. As one of the primary service providers for the Innovation Garage and Digital Media Studio, the Creative Technology Specialist oversees daily operations, ensuring the consistent application of policies and procedures, supporting the work of Access and User Services colleagues, staff, and student employees. Creative Technology Specialist What you will do: Innovation Garage Duties - Provides expert consulting services in large format printing, vinyl cutting, 3D printing, image digitization, maker tools and other creative technologies. - Monitoring email inquiries, booking calendars, assisting users, and maintaining equipment. - Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for creative technology service users, thus creating a positive user experience. - Provides users with tools and services to bring their ideas to life. - Works across the Library to promote understanding and use of Creative Technology Services. - Provides formal and informal technology training to library staff and campus faculty, staff, and students. - Performs inventory, monitoring, and ordering supplies as needed. - Stays current with creative and maker trends through continuing education, research, and environmental scans. - Evaluates creative hardware and software and makes upgrade recommendations as part of continual service improvement. - Documents and refines workflows and other standard operating procedures. - Employs problem-solving and critical thinking skills to arrive at creative solutions to complex issues. - Ensures Innovation Garage website content is up to date. - Collects, analyzes, and applies data to inform decision-making. - Provide recommendations for equipment purchases and repairs. - Contributes to a positive working environment.
