Role Description The client is currently recruiting an Epidemiologist to assist in the coordination of communicable disease informatics related projects as a part of the Surveillance Systems and Informatics (SSI) Program within the Communicable and Environmental Disease and Emergency Preparedness (CEDEP) Division. This position will serve as an ELR Specialist for the SSI Program. The epidemiologist will support REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture), Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR), and other SSI informatics projects and initiatives. As a member of the SSI Program, this individual will get exposure and experience in the use and development of interoperability standards, like HL7, and will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of informatics projects including system integration. - Complete ELR onboarding using HL7 2.5.1 standards - Provide input on and manage various production monitoring tasks including alerts, dashboard development and maintenance, and issue identification. - Complete investigation of ELR processing issues independently and identify proposed solutions. - Work collaboratively with Rhapsody developers to enhance existing routes or define new routes for ELR processing. - Assist with processing of laboratory data submitted via our alternate file format (i.e., flat file). - Coordinate routine and ad hoc management of standard interoperability vocabulary within the disease surveillance system. - Act as liaison to downstream users of ELR data within TDH and CEDEP. - Support other ELR maintenance tasks (e.g parallel validation, LOINC code assignments, and production errors). Qualifications - Work experience with ELR onboarding and/or maintenance at a state or local health department, 1-3 years. - Work experience with Rhapsody or working to define specifications for Rhapsody developers, 1-3 years. - Experience writing statistical and analytical programming code in SAS, SQL, or R. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to manage projects.

• Co-own the interview process for our key engineering hires, including DevOps Engineer (priority), Data Scientist (priority), Windows & Mac engineers, Full-stack web engineers • Design the technical portion of the interview process yourself, and either run the interviews or bring in trusted specialists to help us assess skills • Advise our Head of Engineering on org design and team scaling strategies • Beyond hiring, serve as a technical sounding board for our Head of Engineering

• Take inbound calls for all offices across the company’s network. • Use effective communication over the phone, chat, and email that builds trust with patients. • Utilize the computer to enter patient data into the correct office schedules. • Average a set number of appointments determined by management each day. • Make outbound calls to potential patients and patients that could not make it to their appointment. • Provide guidance and instructions to employees with less experience. • Keep detailed notes on patient interactions to ensure a successful office visit. • Anticipate patients’ needs and identify opportunities that benefit the patient. • Supports offices by calling patients that missed appointments and re-books them. • Other duties as assigned.

• Teach online ELA classes focusing on Reading & Speaking and Reading & Writing skills. • Prepare and deliver well-structured lessons using Think Academy's curriculum resources. • Actively engage and manage a virtual classroom of up to ~10 students. • Grade student work, provide timely feedback, and track student progress. • Communicate professionally with students and parents regarding learning goals and performance. • Participate in regular teacher training, curriculum discussions, and professional development.
