VP Grid Engineering and Interconnection
E SOURCE
Role Description As Vice President, Interconnection (PSE), you’ll play a critical leadership role within our Power Systems Engineering team, leading the growth and delivery of our interconnection services. You will primarily support independent power producers (IPPs), generation developers, and large load and data center developers across U.S. markets. This role combines deep technical expertise in transmission planning and interconnection with strong leadership, client engagement, and business development responsibility. - Lead and grow the interconnection team, ensuring high-quality technical delivery and strong client satisfaction - Allocate resources effectively and review and approve technical reports prior to client submission - Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members - Lead kickoff meetings with generation and large load developers - Present and explain E Source’s interconnection capabilities across major independent system operators and regional transmission organizations (ISOs/RTOs), including CAISO, MISO, SPP, PJM, ERCOT, NYISO, and others - Support clients throughout the full interconnection lifecycle, including capacity analysis, application support, model development, study review, and owner’s engineering - Interpret and communicate complex study results and technical requirements clearly to clients - Provide strategic guidance to clients throughout the interconnection process - Partner with sales teams to achieve revenue targets and expand interconnection services into new markets - Represent E Source at industry conferences and events to build relationships and enhance market presence - Build and maintain strong relationships with renewable generation and data center developers Qualifications - Bring deep expertise in power system engineering, transmission planning, and generator and load interconnection processes across major ISOs/RTOs - Have strong knowledge of clean energy technologies, including renewables, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and large load and data center projects - Demonstrate the ability to lead and scale high-performing technical teams - Have a strong client-facing presence, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights - Bring a collaborative mindset and strong communication skills when working across technical, sales, and executive teams - Are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth consulting environment Requirements - 20+ years of progressive experience in power systems engineering, utility consulting, or a related field - Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and client engagements - Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (PhD or PE preferred) - Strong understanding of North American interconnection processes and regulatory environments Benefits - Excellent insurance options, including medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life insurance; company-paid long- and short-term disability insurance; medical and dependent-care flexible spending plans, and paid parental leave. - A flexible time off (FTO) policy that provides paid time away from work, approved by your manager, while ensuring business needs, workload commitments, and appropriate coverage are maintained. - A 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match. - The budgeted salary for this position is $320,000 USD + annual bonus.
