Senior Data Product Manager
Elm Street
• Evaluate Elm's current data landscape end to end • Develop a prioritized data product roadmap • Stay ahead of where the real estate data industry is heading • Own the design and delivery of new customer-facing data products • Partner closely with engineering and data teams • Collaborate closely with engineering, data infrastructure, design, sales, and customer success teams • Establish a repeatable cadence for data product delivery • Develop and maintain deep expertise in MLS data • Build and manage relationships with MLS organizations and technology partners • Identify opportunities to improve how Elm processes and manages data internally • Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance are built into the platform • Bring a product mindset to operational problems
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years focused on data products, data platforms, or data-intensive applications.
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of MLS data: IDX, RETS, and RESO standards, compliance requirements, data licensing, display rules, and how listing data flows through the real estate ecosystem.
- Proven track record of building data products from zero to one, not just maintaining or improving existing features, but creating net-new products that generated measurable business impact.
- Comfortable partnering with data engineers on schema design, data modeling, and pipeline architecture decisions.
- Strong strategic thinking paired with a bias toward execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a high-growth environment where alignment requires relationship-building, not authority.
- Experience as the first or foundational data product hire at a company is preferred.
- Familiarity with how AI and machine learning can be applied to data products is preferred.
- Experience working with external data partners is preferred.
- Background in real estate, prop-tech, or adjacent industries is preferred.

• Own the backlog and story quality for a complex engagement — often spanning multiple engineering tracks or workstreams • Translate product strategy and roadmap from a 3Pillar PM or client PM into epics, stories, and acceptance criteria with a high degree of independence • Navigate ambiguity confidently: identify gaps in requirements, drive the right conversations to resolve them, and make well-reasoned decisions when direction is incomplete • Lead and facilitate backlog refinement sessions; ensure the team is never blocked waiting on story clarity • Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies as a senior, prepared contributor — and help shape ceremony effectiveness • Mentor and guide POs on the engagement; review their stories, raise the quality bar, and invest in their development • Partner with UX to ensure research findings and design decisions are translated faithfully and completely into the backlog • Communicate backlog health, scope risks, and delivery signals clearly to the PM and Delivery Lead • Champion AI-forward backlog practices — model effective use of AI in story writing, acceptance criteria, and requirements analysis; help the team adopt these habits • Contribute product context in client-facing sessions when needed — credible and clear on scope, requirements, and trade-offs.
