About the Role We're looking for a Personal Injury Protection Resolution (PIP) Adjuster to join our growing team. You'll investigate and evaluate PIP/MP claims and coverage while managing your own inventory of claims. What You'll Do - Provide high-quality customer service by handling calls, filing claims, and resolving requests - You'll investigate PIP/MP claims to determine coverage, injury extent, and evaluate medical billing - Gather documentation, interview parties, explain coverage, and resolve medical expenses - Assess claim validity and determine appropriate settlement amounts or next steps - You'll manage claim inventory and establish/adjust reserves throughout the claim lifecycle - Ensure compliance with state regulations, policy provisions, and SOPs - Communicate regularly with claimants, policyholders, attorneys, and medical providers - You'll prepare thorough claim reports with investigation findings and decision rationale - Provide input for continuous improvement of claims guidelines and processes - Oversee outside service providers and work with client counsel to resolve claims - Engage in learning opportunities to build your claims expertise What You Bring - 3+ years of experience in Personal Injury Protection (don't let a lack of a degree stop you from applying if you have the experience!) - Experience handling NJ (required) and at least one other state to include MI, FL, NY, TX and/or KY - Preferred: Commercial, rideshare, or trucking policy experience - You understand subrogation referrals - Knowledge of Bodily Injury and coordination of benefits between PIP and UM/UIM - Arbitration and/or formal PIP/MP litigation experience - You must have an active adjuster license in your home state or designated home state (if your state does not offer one) and be willing to obtain all required licenses within 60 days - Strong knowledge of state regulations and policy provisions - Eager for continuous learning and professional development - Willing to travel for client and claims needs Benefits - Generous health-insurance package with nationwide coverage, vision, & dental - 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching - Competitive PTO policy – we want our employees fresh, healthy, happy, and energized! - Generous family leave policy after 8 months of continuous work - Work from anywhere to facilitate your work life balance - Apple laptop, large second monitor, and other quality-of-life equipment you may want. Role Description The firm's Senior Associate Attorney position will support and lead companies through the process of securing work visas and green cards for foreign national employees. Meltzer Hellrung's clients span from individual entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies and venture-backed unicorns. This position is fundamentally responsible for helping clients make strategic decisions in hiring employees, determining what visas to apply for, and the best way to secure those benefits. They will collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals to prepare and review petitions to the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Labor, and the Department of State. The job is fast-paced, and a Senior Associate Attorney may work on many different client matters per day. A significant part of the job is responding to communication from clients by email and phone. Location: Offered in Chicago and remotely Availability: Immediate Full-Time - New hires located outside of Chicago are expected to report to the Chicago office for one week upon starting for in-person training. - Remote employees are expected to come to Chicago once per quarter for firm events. The firm will cover the cost of travel.
